It's a trunk, I guess it could store knives!
Been quiet in the leather section. I havent had much knife sheath work recently but I did have a steamer trunk come through my shop. Friend needed new leather handles made. So I did that and then got carried away cleaning it up and adding a leather moose and pine cone on the inside which is what he planned to add somehow. Made a tray and relined the inside too. Just wanted to get a new leather post going . Anyone else doing any leather? I say this counts as knife related as you can store knives in the trunk...yea that's it!

Rossr, that makes it a joy and pleasant surprise every time it's opened. Lovely work.

Very nice, my wife has an old steamer or carriage trunk like that. Hers is no where near the great condition as yours. Great job.

Great redo! We have an old one that's been in the family practically forever, and the handles are missing. The thing empty weighs close to a hundred pounds. I have some offbrand from a department store that's stored lots of stuff over the years, and it's crap. Made out of particle wood with plastic "leather" covering, and everything that is metal or leather on the antique (aside from lock and latches) is plastic on this one. The side trim broke off quickly.

Very nice work! And I think that trunk would be about right for one of the smaller knife collections.

Wonderful work! Don't give me anything else large to collect, I don't have enough room as it is!

Thanks. Funny you mention Maine. That is exactly where this trunk will be headed. My friend was redoing it for his Mother who lives in Maine!Steve Warden wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 5:27 pm D) All of the above
