Sharp Japan "K-Mart" brand folders

Anyone else have one? Any size.. these are higher quality than you would expect..I just cleaned these two up a little and sharpened them... Both were so dull I used our Work Sharp electric sharpener to touch them up first then I finished with my Lansky turn box.. they both took a razor sharp, hair popping edge.. the bigger model with a sheath has a special place in my heart as it was my brother's who died in 1989 when I was 12..as you can see-- he used an engraving tool to put his initials and his last name on the knife.. the smaller model I just bought to carry as an EDC because I didn't want to carry one that big in my pocket and I wanted one to look just like his old knife ... I think I read another thread here that they were described as "gloriously ugly"..anyway, the more I have handled them and messed with them I really like them. Post some pictures if you guys would happen to have any one that looks like this-- any size.. I think there are three models/sizes that all looked the same... This weekend I'm driving to North Carolina to visit my niece and I'm passing my brother's knife along for them to give to their son, my great nephew, when he's old enough to handle it..he's only 9 months old so it will be awhile!!

Yep, years ago I had the larger one ... sold it because the backspring was weak & wouldn't hold the blade closed - the tip would swing up slightly proud of the frame. I always liked the design of those old Kmart Sharp lockblades ....

I have one that I will need to take pics of it. It’s not made in Japan but Taiwan. It’s more of a knock off of the Buck 110.

Not sure if this one is a Sharp or not;it is only stamped "Stainless Japan" on the pile side.Also you didn't show what the actual size is of your knives.Here is mine

Here is the Sharp knife I have it’s marked as model 425 on the front tang stamp. It’s all stainless steel construction. Has a pretty strong spring and very loud snap when it opens and closes. It does look a lot like a Buck 110. It shares some similarities with my Kershaw Black Gulch, which I included a picture of it along side of the Sharp knife. I have been planning on selling this one for years, I got it in a 400 piece collection I bought 8 years ago. I just never got around to listing it. Again this Sharp knife was made in Taiwan.

Look in my LDF Knives store I have an untouched one actually I have two of them a Ramrod and a Wood Hunter look at both of them!

Thanks for posting these two.. interesting how similar they are.. I wonder if some Japanese manufacturers back in the day ripped off knife patterns like Rough Ryder does now?

They're really growing on me... Like I said I read somewhere else somebody described them as "gloriously ugly" but I think they're unique and the more I look at them the more I like them.. and as I said before also-- they took a hair popping edge..I'm going to carry the little one for a few weeks and see how it holds up to some use.. I'm sure it'll be fine

The 300 (the bigger one in my picture) model is roughly 4" closed..the 150 model is roughly 3" closed...

I had the larger of the two, mine was made in Japan and was a good all around knife. That being said I started using my Buck 110 more and my Old Timer lock back as well so I traded it off. I wish I still had it that I start to think about it, like about 99% of all the knives I have traded off.

I just picked this one up on ebay for $15/shipped.. I'm going to sharpen it and carry it also (if it's too heavy for my pocket I'll keep it in my car/truck/buggy).. I think I'm going to engrave my initials on it the same way my brother did on his...

Thought I would throw a few more different ones into the mix if no one minds. I just acquired a second Sharp wood handled lockback today for the grand sum of five dollars.It had some scratches in the blade that are slowly being removed with a wood dowel wrapped in wet-or-dry sandpaper (220 grit to start and finish with 400)and finished up with some Mother's Mag Wheel Polish.
I noticed this one had a serial # stamped on the lock release much like a Puma(even looks a bit like a 4 Star model 715)of 30831. I checked my original one I bought many years ago and it's number is 18301. The others I've picked up in various places.

Cool knives! Thanks for posting them. I have one on the way I'll post soon..they are growing on me more and more...ive been carrying the 150 lockback hunter (the littler one in the picture) for a week now and it's holding a razor sharp edge... It just hit me – – they remind me of a shark for some reason?!

Just pulled this from the mailbox last night..Sharp Japan 200 Wood Hunter.. I paid $16.50 with shipping from ebay... I'm going to sharpen it up, clean it up and carry it.. also going to engrave my initials on it like brother's in my original post..
