Schrade 225 variants - what y'all got?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Schrade 225 variants - what y'all got?

Post by Meridian_Mike »

I was looking around at some pics of the 225H on the net. I saw a picture of a 225 (which I suppose came before the 225H)
A few threads mentioned a 225 with bone covers. The below pics (borrowed from the net) may be one....
It does appear to have bone covers. The 225 is on the pile side tang.

NOW.... I found a 2104 3/8 M that had some crappy covers on it.

I put some kyranite on it for a restoration.....

Then.... I see in some of the catalogs, a reference to a Schrade 225/WSH.....(????)
What the heck is a 225/WSH????
.
.
I have a Schrade 25 OT

And an Uncle Henry 227

Anyway.....
Let's see some Schrade 225 variants.

Mine is also a 225H, but is stamped on the mark side of the blade. Mine is the Asten Felts version with the round shield and Delrin handles.

Here's a Sabre Monrach version from the '60's. It's got the unusual American Knife Company front tang stamp:

This one's an Olsen 119 I believe from the early seventies. Same covers as the Monarchs:

Stretching the definition of variant a little, but how about a single blade 115?

How about a 125OT with a liner lock?

I love what you did with that rehandle job. ::tu:: ::tu::

Hmmmmmmmmm..... I don't recon I have ever seen a 115.....

It almost looks like it is missing the main clip blade...... COOL.

That single blade hunter is the first I have seen. The folding hunters were one of my favorites to collect and still are. I presently seem to own 50 Schrades and 4 Schrade CutCos in that pattern. There are a few duplicates, but not many. Herman Williams customized two or three for me. I received an email from an esteemed collector friend of mine early this week: Herman Williams has passed away.
