You'll get the best results by clicking on "The Team" icon at the bottom right of this page. Then click on "group admin" and send a PM with your request.

I believe it's still possible but it's not a common request so please be patient for a resolution. I had my username changed in 2016 with the help of a Moderator. Took a few days but he got er done.

If I were you, having only recently joined here and having only 7 posts, I’d just try signing up as a new member, with the username you want. Either let the old name become idle or send the admin team a request to disable or delete it. Problem solved. Unless for some reason there are posts associated with your current user name that you want to remain under the new name.

Maybe there’s some reason that solution won’t work but if so I’ll learn something too.

I have sent a request to the admins. I will give it a day or two and if that not possible then this may be a good alternative
