QTCut5 wrote: Sun Oct 17, 2021 2:31 am Here's an interesting little fixed blade I picked up recently. At 6 3/4" OAL (7" w/sheath), clip blade 3 5/8", it's about the size of what I would consider a "Bird & Trout". No markings to ID maker nor location of manufacture; however, the obviously hand-etched design on the metal scabbard/sheath, as well as the stag handle lead me to think maybe it was made in Toledo, Spain-- ::shrug:: --but that's pure conjecture on my part (well, mine and the seller's, although he wasn't 100% sure of it's provenance, either). My friend thinks it looks more Arabic because of the etched embellishment, but the shape of the blade seems more European to me. Also note the full-tang, dove-tailed stag covers, (uneven, but) double-pinned finger guard & hawkbill pommel/butt cap, which all scream "Handmade" to me...I just don't know where or by whom. It has a bit more heft to it than my stag Queen B&T. Fits snugly in the sheath. I really like it. Any thoughts/conjecture/expert opinions are welcome and encouraged. ::nod::
THAT is beautiful, Q! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

I see that Eric is selling a fixie this week which is beautiful and I will NOT be bidding on it; he has just gotten toooo famous for my wallet :lol: . But I did get one sometime back from him that I got out today for a good coonfingering. I have decided to carry it into the field for my annual non-trophy whitetail freezer deer.

It cuts, too, which is more than I can say for most knives I have bought in my life. How many knives have you all received that was actually sharp when you got it? And that includes some $1000 lovelies. :x

NICE one Cal. ::tu:: ::tu::
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Hey, Cal, I was thinking of emailing you tonight. How are you man?
My family and I are fine, we are all vaccinated, but we still protect ourselves. Here with us the situation is not very good, political, economic and health crisis at the same time.

My "first year production", #10/ 1981, Walter Brend dagger. At that time he was still in Zephyrhills, Fl. There's a small tutorial on his Facebook page on this knife. I sent it to him to authenticate it. What a great guy...

It was not sharp when received but with a very few very light strokes with my EZ Lap diamond stick it was very sharp.
