Rough Riders!
Re: Rough Riders!
The best way I've found to search out knives in a series or pattern is use Worthpoint.
Example: looking for different scales offered in a particular pattern, say a copperhead.
I would type in the search: rough rider copperhead. That would show me the bulk of them sold on eBay over the years.... Many pages..
On that boxcar whittler in knew it should be classified as a Whittler, and that there weren't many in black, so I typed in rough rider whittler black and found it easily.
It's a valuable database of sales. Of course to have price history it requires a subscription.
Hope this helps someone out.

Re: Rough Riders!
These mini trappers are a testament to how great the quality can be on pocket knives. Despite my blade wobble obsession every one of them are solid as a rock. 15 for 15 ain't bad. Hard to put the black pearl series in my pocket though.

Re: Rough Riders!
A very nice series that I don't have. I assume that because it uses "Rider" it is one of the older series sets.

Correct. Not sure exactly how old as mine came from a collector or the bay. They do pop up every now and then.

Re: Rough Riders!
Only got this RR2055 large Congress the other day but will take better pics when I'm off work, I'm very impressed with it , solid lock up , half stops , good fit n finish, swedges, matchstrike nail pulls, pinched bolsters, not a huge fan of the R bolster but getting use to it, love the wormgroove bone, although its exactly the same pattern both sides? Machine done ? One sided got a nicer red than the other , and all for £19 posted , been in my pocket the last 2 days

Great little user Ken! I don't think there's a soul alive who actually likes the R bolster, so you're not alone on that one!zed6309 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 6:48 pm Only got this RR2055 large Congress the other day but will take better pics when I'm off work, I'm very impressed with it , solid lock up , half stops , good fit n finish, swedges, matchstrike nail pulls, pinched bolsters, not a huge fan of the R bolster but getting use to it, love the wormgroove bone, although its exactly the same pattern both sides? It definitely would be nicer without the R bolster, a shield would of looked nice as wellMadmarco wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 1:16 amGreat little user Ken! Re: Rough Riders!
That is my problem with the lot of the Classic Carbon knives. They're the only RRs one can get in carbon steel, but those "R" bolster are hideous!!!
Re: Rough Riders!
I moved this topic into the Rough Rider forum.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

I agree, I was so concentrated on the R bolster I didn't even notice it has no shield!zed6309 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 7:58 pmIt definitely would be nicer without the R bolster, a shield would of looked nice as wellMadmarco wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 1:16 amGreat little user Ken! Re: Rough Riders!
This Colt knife has a Grizzly Bear inlay which is suitable as it is a big strong knife: 4 1/2" closed, 2 blades, both lockbacks and it is a single spring, so reasonably slender. I think it is a Great knife.

Re: Rough Riders!
3 5/8" Colt Gunstock with a Grizzly paw print inlay. The large master Spear Point and secondary Clip blade is a combo not often seen. A Pen secondary is more common. Another Great knife.

Re: Rough Riders!
Here is a beautiful Rough Rider, 3 1/2" Trapper with Tobacco bone handles inlaid with an Acorn shield and a fine buck Whitetail head.
Master Clip blade is a lockback.
Rough Rider has made so many fine Traditional patterns. This one is a Beauty.

Re: Rough Riders!
Here is a 3 1/4" black bone Colt Canoe, single spring with both blades locking and coated with a titanium wash. It has a Bison inlay. Tremendous quality at any price.

Re: Rough Riders!
Here is the same 3 1/4" double lockback, single spring Canoe but with Rough Rider branding. Great inlay of Eagle in 'strike position'.
That's all for now.
