I'm impressed as well. I don't think I've ever had one that sharp.

::tu:: The only Benchmade I own is a 585 Mini Barrage. My son in law has a Benchmade that was discontinued due to a lawsuit by Spiderco for a copy of their design. ftd

here ya go Junebug. i managed to dig up a few more that i had forgotten about. anyway...3 autos, 3 spring assist, one fixed, the rest are regular folders. as you see, several are first runs or prototypes. the last two are made in taiwan and the very last one is a nra outdoors knife made by benchmade and says "protoyype" (yes, they mispelled prototype). only 4 have seen use, at least one had seen action in iraq. i have boxes for all but 3 of them.

This is one of my earliest Benchmades designed by Walter Brend.
Benchmade Brend #0043 c.jpg
mark side etch and number.jpg
The number, 0043, was put on the knife at the direction of Les de Asis because he knew that 43 was my Al Mar number.
When I told him I wanted one of the Brend knives he said he would make one up for me.
I thought that was odd, but when I went to Clackamas to pick up the knife he told me he had one of the guys put my Al Mar number on the knife.
I thought that was pretty cool. 8)

As you can see I have used this knife. It was my EDC for a year or two.
I still carry it form time to time. It is one of the smoothest opening knives I have ever seen! ::nod::
