i dug up a couple nice looking stag handel knives that i thought would fit here with all the other good looking stag knives here in this thread hope everybody likes them the first one is a hen & rooster coffin jack and the second one is a ja hencels four blade congress

The only reason I have this lockback is because of the handle material. It's not really a pattern that I would normally seek out. :roll: But I just couldn't resist the stag.
She's a hand full at 5 1/4" closed , AJAX CUTLERY SHEFFIELD tang stamp. If it were a coin it would be classified as "harshly cleaned" or over buffed. ::td::

Does anyone remember where I read the post about how the Sheffield makers processed the stag to color ,soften,press,and whatever they did?

I read a great post or link to some of this history ,just can't seem to get the right search result.

If I remember right,they formed it after softening it,which allowed the shape of the stag to come right against the bolsters.

I hope someone finds it .
