Going to be cooler here today with a high of 78 but look out for the weekend. Back into the 90s for Friday - Sunday.

Linnea's birthday tomorrow so I have to get ready for that. Thank goodness it's cooler today because one thing I have to do is make a cherry pie. I'll get it ready to go in the oven today and bake it tomorrow so it will be fresh when she gets home from work tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Howdy, boys ... top o' the mornin' to ya ...

Do you fellas find that your coffee tastes better out of a favorite mug or cup? My favorite mug belongs to my dad. It is a ceramic mug, taller than usual and fashioned and finished to resemble a red and brass shotgun shell. My uncle, one of Daddy's older brothers, gave it to Daddy years ago, and even though he insists on drinking his coffee out of his special John Wayne mug ("A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"), Daddy won't let me have the shotgun shell mug. Ah well ...

Morning Cowboy, never noticed about a different (better) taste in a certain cup before - mine are all ceramic "advertising" mugs from various trips. Maybe its ceramic that makes the difference? Sipping my morning coffee from a "Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada" cup right now. OH

Just finished up my first cup and getting ready for a 2nd. It'll be a lazy day today. Maybe I'll get a few knives ready to go on eBay.

A few years ago, my daughter gave a cup to me with caricatures of my grandchildren on it so now every time I use that cup, I say, "I'm having coffee with the kids this morning".

Happy Fathers Day to all you fathers out there and also to those who may be fathers but just don't know it.

Great way to share a cup, Jerry!! I have one of those, too. My daughter gave it to me a couple of years ago, this one's black until you fill it with coffee, then the pics show up. It's always the first one I grab, if it's out of the dishwasher.

I don't drink coffee every day but when I do, my go to cup is usually a Marine Corps cup one of my buddys gave me. It has the Marine Corps seal, my rank, name and years of service on it.

Sounds like another great mug, but I gotta tell ya ol' buddy. If it weren't for that EVERY morning cup(s) of coffee, i'd not only never get out of bed, but i'd be impossible to live with! :x

Well I'm hyper-sensitive to the caffene so I'm stuck with decaf and can take it or leave it. I'm probably hard to live with coffee or no coffee.

And a Happy Fathers Day to you too Scott (and to all the Fathers here at AAPK). Sipping on my second cup now, got to pack the car and drive down to Atlantic Beach in a few hours - going to take several days off and chill at the beach with my wife and youngest daughter.

Top o' the mornin' too ya, laddys! (and lassys)
Coffeemaker shot craps yesterday, so we had to break out the ol' campfire percolator this a.m. Coffees a might strong,(and HOT) but goin' down fine.
Anyone got a recommendation for a good coffeemaker? In 5 years, we've gone through 2-Bunn's, 2-Mr. Coffee's and 2-Kitchenaids. The second of each, was a warranty replacement for the first. Just can't seem to find one that'll last.

We've been using a Kuerig for about the last year and a half with no problems. I am working on my first cup right now.

Six coffee makers in five years? Wow! Now that's some hard water. I can't imagine anything else that would cause six makers from three manufacturers to go TU in that short amount of time. Ever use that coffee maker cleaner/descaler you find in the grocery store?

Thanks Ray, we'll check that one out.
Jerry, it's always the electrical or electronics that end up going out. Although, one of the Kitchenaids did spring a leak and dumped about 2 cups of water out of 12 onto the countertop. The others were either the hotplates or they just wouldn't come on. No fuses or bad connections, just quit working.
One thing that's a factor, is that we use our home kitchen for a showroom for our cabinet buisiness. We keep coffee going most all hours of the day. We've thought about getting one of the large institutional Bunn makers, but it just wouldn't fit into the showroom enviroment.
I really had high hopes for the Kitchenaids, we paid $130 for them. I guess, i'm hoping to find an industrial quality maker that has a home kitchen look. Not sure if they make such an animal. ::shrug::

Gee, I don't know Rob. With the commercial look being so popular in high end kitchens these days, would a single or two burner Bunn commercial unit really look so out of place? From what you've told us, the home coffee makers may look pretty but just aren't up to the task.

Just one man's opinion.

You might be right, Jerry. I'll have to check and see if they'll fit between the countertop and overhead cabinets. Never measured one, but most i've seen are pretty tall. Ultimately, the final decision on such matters, I leave to the better half. As long as it makes the coffee, I personally don't care what it looks like. She on the other hand, thinks like an interior designer! ::facepalm::
