Yes, that's what the "Mystery Knife" is/was. They're quite the collectible in some circles. I never cared much for them but that's just me. I have one only to have one.

Here's a little information on them to get you started if you're interested. If not... ::shrug::

You're welcome California guy.

BTW I used to work for a company that was based in Sunnyvale and got out to the Bay area frequently. I went north quite a few times but never got south of Santa Cruz. Now I wish I had.

Ahhh Bob. Love those Randalls

Ray -- That's quite a pile of fixed blades you have there but I'm not seeing a Fairbairn Sykes. What's up with that?

Here are a few of my Randall's. Sorry about the lazy pics with the blades covered. I will try to and get better pics of them (and the others) sometime and share.

Jerry:Believe it or not I don't own one! I do have a Pakistani copy I bought a few years ago for a buck or two.I'm not much of a military knife collector although I do have a few.A good friend of mine used to be a big time military collector and would buy entire collections just to gat a couple of knives he wanted. He would then sell off the remaining ones at a local flea market, but would always call me and give me first pick. I in turn would offer him military stuff if I came upon it.Worked out well for both of us.
Here's a few of mine:
An M1 bayonet dated 1943.I had it chrome plated years ago by a friend who worked in a plating shop.
An unknown bayonet given to me by my brother. It's marked but I never researched it to find out it's country of origin.
A Case V42 repro(early).
A German fireman's knife.Looks like a bayonet but no barrel lug.
The handle of a Horstmann Bros. officer's dress sword picked up at a junk shop for $40/Really nice shape with scabbard and accessories.
A German SA dagger given to me by a good friend whose dad brought it back home after WWII.
A Signal Corps kit with 4 line Camillus TL-29.
A USN Mk1
A USN Mk2
An M3 bayonet.

I agree with Junebug, there are some mighty fine knives being shown here! ::tu:: ::tu::

Here is a pic of my LONG knives. I threw in some shorter knives for scale. The crown stag bowie, second from the top, is 15 1/2" OAL. I collect mostly folders so this is the last of my fixed blade knives..................until the postman brings my latest order. Have one new fixed blade coming.

Gino -- The Case FB, is that a Finn? It looks pretty small. I've always had a bit of a Jones for one of those cute little devils or one of the two knife sets. What do you think of it?

Looked it up. The Case 372 TWIN FINN Hunter Two Knife Set consists of a 381 & 379. The 381 is a 316-5 with a 5" blade. The 379 is a M3FINN with a 3-1/8" blade (other sources say 3").

All those numbers are a bit confusing from my perspective.
