First time I've seen a punch like that, thanks for posting.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

According to my old eyes that is a very beautiful, practical and desirable old knife. Love those bones.

That is the Union Cut co punch design used on all their KA-BAR branded knives to at least WW2. You gotta beware if you see an pre-war KA-BAR with any other punch. That is a GORGEOUS harness jack!!peanut740 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 2:14 amKind of a half moon shape.Round on the back, flat on the front.1967redrider wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 1:37 am Pretty cool pattern, great looking knife. Re: Union Cut. Co. Olean NY
I have this knife and could use some assistance helping me decide exactly what it is.
I think it’s called a trapping knife??
According to my research it could be from 1897-1909. Does that sound about right?
I understand it’s not in impeccable condition, but does anyone have an idea of what I should ask for this on Ebay?
Should I try and clean it up myself before posting it?
Thanks for your time!

I believe it's sometime after 1923.Amanda93477 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 2:10 pm I have this knife and could use some assistance helping me decide exactly what it is.

Nice pre KA-BAR knife. KA-BAR branded knives began in 1923. What's the closed length? A 4 inch knife is called a gunboat. It appears to me the blades have been dressed up since the spey blade doesn't have a choil. It's still a really nice hard to find knife.
