Never owned an Old Cutler before or knew it was made by Colonial until I purchased this one off Ebay (Forgive me I am a Schrade (USA) and Remington (USA) collector)
I was very pleased with the construction - It might be my new user or might just put it in with the collection and start collecting some usa made Colonials

Very quality knives.

Yes, they are good knives. They were made to higher quality standards than some of their other knives. I have a Ranger and an Old Cutler stockman that look almost identical, but you can feel that the OC is heavier, has thicker blades, and a more robust frame.
The Ranger has 3 backsprings - one for each blade, and has their patented "snap into place" bolsters. The Old Cutler is a more traditional design.
I am not knocking the other Colonials - I have a few of them and they are great, but the Old Cutler line of knives were their "Cadillacs"!

I just received a NOS Old Cutler 523. I'd put the fit and finish of this knife up against any Case or GEC anytime. Now I'm on the hunt for others!

D.L. , I just picked this O.C. up not knowing what company made them, from the feel of the knife, I was thinking it was made by Schrade. I don't think I ever posted this one. New in the box 723 Barlow. Note date written on box with the date 6-18-81, which was fathers day. I gave this knife to my dad on fathers day that year and many years later had it returned to me from his estate. Has the original box and registration paper in it.

It warms my heart to know that he treasured the knife so, as you do now. These are not just knives that we share, but also memories!

That is so cool - what a great memory - my Dad got me started collecting folders and I have a lot of his as well - I was with him on many trades and remember the knife and trade very well

I recently acquired this outstanding Old Cutler 4 blade from bladebuddy in the POS exchange. Never seen a 4 blade Old Cutler before, or a hawk bill blade either. It has had a lot of work done on it to embellish. Pretty cool knife all around and will fit in with my Old Cutler collection. I used to be an Old Cutler dealer about 40 some years ago.
