Camillus Split Spring Whittler Pocket Knife

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

wlf wrote: Fri Dec 13, 2024 3:59 pm Beauty, I didn't know they numbered the knives in the 4 line period. I guess with Camillus about anything might be possible.
Yes Sir they did. Believe there are a whole series of4 digit numbers in the 4 line time period. It was sometime in that period they dropped a digit or 2 . By the short line period (1946 to 50,51) they went to 2 digit. IIRC. Vit knows a lot more of the details and maybe he will chime in .
The 4 digit ones are very early 4 line stamped knives . Can’t remember the 3 digit stuff .
Take care out there. ::handshake::

I'm in the process of selling off most of my Camillus knives so I thought it would be a good idea to put together all of my Camillus whittlers in this thread, here they are:

I've been selling parts of my collection on eBay since 2019, but very slowly 4-5 knives a week.
