All About Pocket Knives

Any new knife coming in will likely suffer as a comfort knife for a while next to the recliner. The KABAR is the current object for fondling. I also have an old orange pumpkin Case box to hold other favored folders as comfort knives.
I'm glad someone created this thread, I told my wife about to prove I'm not the only one who does this.

I decided on my Blackjack Mamba lockback as my table companion for today. I haven't had this one out of it's display for some time now, and it's such a cool knife that I thought it'd be ideal for today's activities! It's 9 1/4" oal/SS dagger blade with dual-studs, SS body with Delrin inlays, SS liners and pins, and a weight of 8.6 oz.'s! Arrived as sharp as they come! Has all the B/J markings, made in Japan, silky-smooth walk, and talks loud enough to take off a fingertip if not careful! The run-up on this piece is comparable to a Japanese MOKI, displaying extremely tight tolerance! A big solid knife, just the way I like em'!

That's a beast, Marco! Sleek AND tough!

Dug this one out yesterday for closer inspection(and surrepetious fondling)after noticing what appeared to be remnants of an etch on the blade. After much work with a magnifier and a light source I finally managed to make out the etch:an old Conestoga wagon with the letters,"Brown Mule" next to it and the model # KC-37 underneath.The two storks were already on the tang so I knew what it was.
Googled the name and came up with some pictures.There were 3 different sizes of this knife and this one is the smallest.Seems to be an older model and the wood handles have a very nice feel to them. Guess it will reside in my pocket for a few days.

VERY nice K7K! I'm a big fan of Sodbusters, and that one is a beauty! I currently own just these 2, but have plans on getting more colors. An 8 1/2" Case 2138 in black Delrin, and a considerably smaller horse-head tang stamped Chinese 6 3/8" model in purple hardwood. Love me my Sodbusters!

I broke out my Mcusta Basketweave linerlock for today, because, well, just because! This is 6 3/8" of knife manufacturing excellence, with a VG-10 stainless Damascus drop-point blade riding on oiled washers and with dual-studs, SS through construction body, single SS liner, adjustable pivot, SS screws, and a weight of just over 3 oz.'s! Built in Seki, Japan! This knife opens lightning fast via the stud, and locks tight with zero play. When I choose this as my comfort knife for the day, it stays in my hand being opened/closed over and over all day long because it's sooo soothing! I have 2 other Mcustas coming, and I'll post those when they arrive!

That’s my favorite of the MC-3 series. The bamboo look is right up there with it. Mcusta makes such a great product and that one is just a great looking knife.

I pulled out this Grand Way lockback as my knife for today! This one is 10" oal/440C SS tanto blade with 25% top edge jimping and n/n, SS bolsters and liners, brass pins, and beautiful Walnut scales. Nice comfortable weight of about 7 oz.'s, and incredibly sharp. Has Grand Way markings. This is a big, solid knife that was actually a replacement for one I'd ordered but was out of stock, and once I received it I was glad I had got this one instead of the original!

Marco that blade shape looks "powerful." I am guessing the blade is about 4 inches. If it opened via a thumb button or thumb plate it would be an extra fine defensive tool.

Good guesstimate Garry, exactly 4"! It only has the nail-nic, but I suppose if one so desired an aftermarket stud wheel could be attached, but as you know I don't actually use or carry my knives, so I think I'll leave it as-is, but great idea all the same! Appreciate the feedback!

For today I have my 11 1/4" oal A/O linerlock USMC stiletto/SS black-coated blade with dual flippers and fuller, SS liners and screws, what is a very likely aluminum 2-piece body with cross-cut texturing, adjustable pivot, removeable skull-crusher, and a pocket-clip. Weighs about 4 oz.'s, and has a sharp single-edge. Has USMC etchings, and although I don't recall which company builds these, it's made in China. When I first received this knife the flipper action was extremely tight, but after fine-tuning the pivot and applying Q. R. oil, it flies open with a nudge on the flipper and locks-up solid! Even though it's a big knife, I can 1-hand open/close it over and over via it's silky-smooth flipper action! A-ton-of-fun to play with! Merry Christmas to all, HO HO HO!

I like the stiletto style plus being an assisted open it's even better, nice one.

Well, I needed a bit of a boost today after dealing with, well, stuff for the past 2 days, so I chose my Ganzo F7212BK Bo/BC auto! This one is 8" oal/SS drop-point blade, SS bolsters and liners, screw construction, adjustable pivot, recessed button so no safety, black textured G-10 covers, lanyard hole, and a pocket-clip. A comfortable weight of about 4 oz.'s, and razor-sharp. Displays all the Ganzo markings. These knives are so much fun to play with, and if you break it, it was so inexpensive that it can be easily replaced! I don't know how they can keep pumpin' these out for about US$25., but they do! Cool knives!

That Ganzo has a very nice design to it. I like the way the handles flow into the blade.
