Shug Fisher was a member of the Sons of the Pioneers along with Ken "Festus" Curtis. He actually appeared on Gunsmoke 22 times.

Seems like he played the town drunk on Gunsmoke and he did it well.

Saw one of my favorite character actors in The Big Sleep on TCM yesterday. Elisha Cook Jr. had a 60+ year career in film and television in all sorts of roles, from psychopathic gangsters to westerns and comedies. Probably best know for his roles as a gangster gunman in 21 film noirs (he played Sidney Greenstreet’s smarmy psycho gunman “Wilmer”, in The Maltese Falcon for example).

Another one. Frank Ferguson was in hundreds of movies and television appearances.

Earl Holliman died yesterday. I remember him for his work in a lot of westerns as well as other movies and tv.

He had the Earl Holliman Theater in San Antonio for a while.
