That would be a great idea to be able to have a key on you knife. I am going to look into that. I have seen pics of it before and ones that were for sale but never owned one myself.

Wow that is a great find on that Coke Bottle. I don't mean to be rude but do you mind if I ask how much you were able to grab it for?
I picked up a few things at Willey Knives in Deleware that I'll be posting as soon as I get back into town.

hey gang found a few gems today, a 65-69 black copperhead(parts knife) and a super rare find but sadly this knife has two blades broken off, perfect scales and one worn blade, case tested large sweeping c(20-40) it appears to winterbottom bone, not a 100 percent sure. ill get better pics in the sunlight. my book(sargents) says in perfect condition this knife in winterbottom would pull around 12,000, in rogers around 10,000 and green bone around 8,000, its a shame someone broke the blades. here is a pic of the 6488lp. its 4 and 1/8 inches long. any info on this would be awesome.

hey gang looked at some pics of handle material and am almost certain its not winterbottom or rodgers, it could be green bone or stag? still worth restoring. very exciting to think i found a 5488 or 6488lp at a fleamarket(large swoop c at that) if only the blades werent broken, dang.lol

Now you need to find one with the blades on the other end broken.
Sometimes it happens!

colonial - I paid $40 for the coke bottle and a couple items that my wife had grabbed.
(I usually do not buy knives with wood handles, but I have a small group of this pattern)

What is the length?
It looks more to me like a Buck than a Schrade.

Most Craftmans knives were made By Schrade or Camillus.

....but I agree with Dale, sure looks a lot like a Buck.

The profile is definitely not Schrade and I cannot find any Camillus that has that profile either.

Did Kabar make one that had the shape of a Buck?
Maybe it is a what it appears to be, a SFO from Buck.

Went on a short road trip today to one of my favorite wooded areas to due a little fishing and hunt for some black locust wood for a unrelated knife project of mine.
Passed by a small yard sale on the way. Did my fishin (didn't catch anything but got my wood).
On the way heading home I stopped at that little yard sale.
At first they didn't look like they had anything good but after looking through a box of old silverware I found this old pocket knife.
Can you believe I got this for 75 cents?
It is a J A Scholes Wharncliffe Jack made in Sefton Sheffield late 1800's.
The knife's blade is worn from sharpening and very small play. The horn scales are coming away from the liners a little but the knife has a good snap and the horn has no signs of insect damage. Everything is an easy fix.
This is the best bargain I ever got on a knife buy.

#6 from the right looks like a nice quill knife.
Is it possible to see some close-ups?
What brand is the machete?

Scott...I have seen those before...in fact I think I had one.
Cool little knife...you should post it in the metal handled knife thread in knife lore.
