Great shots, Phil. Hopefully you can put one of those in the freezer this season.

Picked some end of the season peaches today, some ripe, juicy and sweet pears and some pears that need to ripen yet today at the farm.

The wife and I did a bike ride yesterday from Old Towne Alexandria to 14th St. Bridge and back. Gorgeous day with almost no wind. The selfie at the bottom is reversed.

Did another bike ride today, from Brunswick, MD to Harper's Ferry, WV. My first visit and it was a gorgeous day, perfect temperature and no wind.

Redrider, I just now discovered your bicycle adventures. Wonderful shots. As a former cyclist, I understand that when you mentioned there was no wind then you had the makings of a perfect ride.

Red, Any truth to what I heard about 340 being closed due to rock slides from Loudoun Heights? Many years ago I was near there when a very big one had fallen across the road. That ride gives me the creeps ever since. O'.

Yes, 340 out of Frederick, MD towards Leesburg is closed. But Rt 9 is a good alternate for that area.
Thanks, Chris and bighomer.

I was thinking of the stretch along the river between the long bridge from the Sandy Hook side and the Harper's Ferry bridge, under Loudoun Heights. ? I heard the rock faces have become very unsteady. Thanks.

It's the West Virginia leg of 340 that caused it to be closed, according to the news. You can see the corner of it in my Sept. 21st post picture above. You can still take 340 to Brunswick. CSX is also currently doing hillside work on that side of the river.

Thanks. I did look it up and found the info. That road has always been dangerous. Like I said, I was present at an incident 50 years ago that could have killed a lot of folks had it involved a bus or the like. Luckily the big rock landed in a time interval between cars. O'.

I cleaned out the chicken coop yesterday, they were as pleased as peacocks.
As you can see, there was a supervisor on hand. Or photobomber, your choice.
