I am glad that she got that deer, Ripster! Grace should be proud of herself.
We have killed two deer this year. Both with our Toyota Camry. I hit one back at the end of June. Then one week after getting the car back from the shop, my wife hit another!

And I used to think that hunting was expensive... ::facepalm::

This morning the Buck with a busted tine meet up with grand niece for her first Buck shot and killed . This Buck we’ve been seeing up on the ridge but decided to leave him be for the new hunters in the crew. So at 12 years old Grace dropped him with one shot from her bow . About 35 yds away and he didn’t go far . So was pretty cool moment with her Dad and Grandpa and I being there. Now this old Uncle JP and her Grandpa and Dad have some great moments and memories to share at the yearly hunting place.Little Grace sure was excited ,she’s pretty cool about it though . Guess better get back down there and see if his big brother is still hanging around .
Take care .
What a cool post and pics.

As always great pictures and comments of our great outdoors, the little gal with her buck is special!
Unk, we got one that'll compete with that buck of yours! ::nod:: Click on the pics to enlarge.

Several other amusing pictures the last week or so:
Only the mature, tall deer can reach the plate so the smaller ones pick up what momma knock on the ground. Notice the kernels falling.

There has been an overabundance of cottontail rabbits this summer. This critter has probably helped thin them out.

This cow horn spike is still hanging with his momma and the other ladies. They'll probably run him of pretty soon. Lots of pictures show the doe, her last year's fawns and this year's fawns staying together.

I enjoy seeing the pictures from our cameras each week as much as actually hunting. Hope y'all enjoy them too.

Nice critters, tree!

I haven't been on a horse in probably 20 years, Chris. Except for my trusted iron steed at the farm. 😉

Just received a pic from niece Laura . She went out last night and got her first Buck with a bow . She has become quite the hunter ! She’s also an avid fisher both fresh and saltwater .
Guess this old Uncle and her Dad need to step up their game !
