I actually like hunting in the rain but 35 degrees in the rain is RAW
That new truck was a retirement gift to myself in2019 I just failed to retire

Looks like some great deer season going on for you gents and families from all around the country. Down here in swamp country I have dropped a buck and a doe so far (going again on Friday). A couple pictures of our yard herd, I don’t hunt them, we just enjoy having them around. Our big news is our first grandchild, a grandson for me to start hunting, fishing, and boating with once he can walk - he got here Friday night. OH

Thanks guys! We are beyond thrilled to have a grandson, in our late 60's and never thought we'd get to be grandparents. Our daughter is late 30's and a globetrotter, never thought she would settle down, but she found a north Georgia country boy - we all got lucky. OH

Congratulations Bruce! Just turned 62 and the wife and I are still waiting on our first grandkid. One of these days, I hope.
We were eating breakfast last week and saw this guy in the backyard. Filmed it through the backdoor on 20x zoom, so it's a little shaky. He was looking back at a doe under the feeder.

Gdogg, you're still sittin' in the truck, what's all that white stuff on the ground? Looks like the sand in Northwest Florida. We had enough snow years ago to stick on the ground for a day or two and it lit up the woods, made it so much easier to see in the trees and such. That's good except for the having to endure the cold weather. It was too cold this morning, opening morning 37, I stayed in the house. I suppose I wouldn't make a very good Yankee seeing that 37 is pleasant to some of y'all fellers in Maine and Minnesota. To make up for my missin' opening mornin', again, I did go this afternoon after our Thanksgiving dinner and nap. About 3:30 I went down to the shooting house, it was sprinkling rain, 55 degrees, kinda nasty. Got settled in and immediately spotted a deer in the oat patch, looked small. Watched for a few minutes and the little deer locked on to something in the thick woods to the west. Out pops his momma and then his cousin and then his aunt, on and on, even a big brother that only sported short spikes. Altogether there were 10 feeding in front of me for about an hour. Old Big Boy never did show up, legal shooting time was over at 5:11, it was too dark to see at 4:45 because of the cloud cover. The rut is still over a month away, maybe we'll have some horny headed visitors before it's over in February.
A couple of pictures, the 1st was at the feeder last Saturdayevening, the other this afternoon. (Time on the camera is not correct for todays picture, click on it and you'll see some of the visitors this afternoon.
One of the ones we're looking for didn't show up this afternoon.
Looking over the oat patch, behind it are the last of our planted pines next to a canal that crosses our farm.
