I got a couple of Rough Rider manuals in today, but I'll post them one-at-a-time! This first one is the R/R 2181 Denim Micarta slip-joint, and it's 7" oal/440A SS wharncliffe blade with n/n, ribbed N/S bolsters and pins, brass liners, denim Micarta covers, and lanyard tube. It weighs exactly 3 oz.'s, and came incredibly sharp. Has a very comfortable walk n' talk and the fit n' finish is professional. The run-up where the spine meets the tang has extremely tight tolerance that is similar to a Moki, and the blade is centered perfectly when closed. I like 'em both, love the looks of the Denim Micarta and that Bow Trapper pattern is awesome.

I received this knife today, and it's providing me with plenty of comfort already! It's an 11" oal unmarked Ukrainian made automatic, and it has a needle-point dagger ground blade, N/S engraved bolsters, SS liners and release lever, black Delrin covers secured with screws, and a SS spine-extended lanyard bracket. It weighs about 5 oz.'s, and arrived with only the bottom edge sharpened. It fires fast n' hard and locks-up tight, along with an excellent fit n' finish. The knife has a very unusual firing mechanism, as well as an unusual blade release for closing. It's a really nice knife! Marco, I have been studying your knife for several days. Honestly, it kind of intimidates me. It seems so fiercely designed for one very unpleasant thing. Of course that doesn't take away from its sleek construction. Yet, I do not enjoy looking at it. I may be a wuss.

I was wondering why you hadn't commented Garry, and now I know. I fully agree the knife does have a definite intimidation factor, and I'd also agree it was designed with only one thing in mind. Fortunately though, as you know my knives never leave the house, so it's strictly for my enjoyment and will never be used for what was intended. I have most of the regular models on the market, so when I find one that's unusual I like to add it to the ole' collection. With the way that knife operates it definitely falls into the unusual category. And please don't sweat your status, we're ALL wuss's at heart, no matter how much we try to deny it. In this day and age with all the automatic handgun problems out there, only a fool would think an automatic knife such as that knife would be effective in a confrontation, and honestly, at our age who goes looking for confrontations anyway! Today is this made in France 6 1/4" oal Le Theirs 289 slip-joint/SS drop-point blade with file work and n/n, N/S bolsters liners and pins, file worked spine, and black n' white Paper Stone covers. I'd never heard of P/S either! It has a respectable weight of about 1.98 oz.'s, and came to me very sharp. The walk n' talk is an extremely tight 8, along with an excellent fit n' finish. On the more expensive models of this style they have a built-in mechanism that you push-in on the closed blade and it unlocks for opening, but mine being on the low-end only opens with the n/n. A solid well built folder from a quality company!
I forgot to post this knife yesterday, but better late than never! This is a 9.6" oal Curel Estiletto slip-joint/SS dagger blade minus a n/n but wide enough to 2-finger pinch open, brass accented bolsters liners and pins, and rich Stamina wood covers. Quite light at only 2.1 oz.'s, and arrived shaving sharp. Has a smooth walk n' talk, and top-rate fit n' finish. Built in Portugal. I can't come up with a genuine use for this style of knife, other than as a conversation piece, but I've long been attracted to the knife's profile so I bought one for my collection of "unusuals"!

Both are great looking knives Marc, and one word describes both...... "Svelt." Both look high speed and low drag. Cool finds for sure.
