I couldn’t resist this, for anyone who is old enough to remember an old land line phone gag.
You guys better let Prince Albert out.

Looking for some family history about an Ulster knife that looks too good to be old. Tang stamps don't lie, but I have no printed listing to identify it. A MAYBE knife is pictured in a 1920's Ulster catalog as 27340Y, but with no descriptive details. However the tang stamp is in the 20's to 30's period. The handles and blades are steel, respond to a magnet. No other markings on the knife beyond my pictures. Hope somebody has a better reference book than mine. Thankful for your assistance.

Pretty nice big heavy sleeveboard double spring whittler. I don't know what you call the swedge , a false edge? It has a long fine match strike pull.

Beautiful knife Steve! I have only 1 gunstock in my Ulster collection, and it's nowhere as nice as the one in your post. I think the scales on mine are horn.

I usually don't care for the gunstock pattern but you two are making it hard not to like them.

Thanks Dimitri, tmk , and JP . That big Ulster knife checks a lot of my boxes for not being a farmers jack. 😊

Added a decent Ulster made W. Bingham Co. jack that still has a good etch, Bingham's Best Brand. Bingham's was a hardware store started in Cleveland OH in 1841, closed in 1961.

Ulster had some of the best jigged bone. 😎👍
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Thanks Eric, it was a challenge to stop the rust and not disturb the etch or original blade finishes, I think it came out OK.
