Nice work. The lack of roof maintenance has destroyed so many old barns.

Congratulations and a nice shot, Old Hunter! I have a M77 in 30-06, but mostly use my 270 Weatherby Vanguard. Harvested a lot of deer with the 270. Our TN muzzleloader season starts this Saturday.

Every time I hear or read about a .32 Winchester Special, my thoughts go back to a different day, back when we would have correctly been called "young& foolish". We were invited to hunt on an adjoining ranch to Miss Joy's family ranch. It was a traditional deer hunt with hounds with several of us on horse back. A rainy afternoon and what a circus!
The dogs jumped a buck as a buckin' horse was about to unload one of the fellers from the ranch we were on. Shots were fired as the running buck made his way from the palmetto flat to a Cypress pond. For some reason my buddy and I were both using rifles that afternoon, probably the wide open flat woods caused us to make that choice.
The buck was running the outside rim of the Cypress pond, I got down off the old mare I was riding and took a crack at deer. At the shot the deer headed back out back across the palmetto flat. The buck had been hit but was still in high gear. My friend John had his .32 and was closing the gap on the deer. He pulled up to shoot and his horse pulled a stunt and tried to pitch him off. John whacked the horse between the ears to get his attention. That whack dented the magazine tube so much the old Winchester would only hold 3 rounds! The chase was resumed, we both closed in on the deer and as he ran passed the deer the old .32 rolled the deer up.
That was over 50 years ago, we were a different breed of redneck back then, the old .32 is still in my friends possession, he's crippled up with neuropathy, neither one of us has been on a horse in years. We both look at life a bit different than we did in the early 70s.
There's another tale about about me running over his old 12 gauge double barrel but we'll save that for another day.
