Snowing heavily this morning in eastern South Dakota. I was reminded of the old saying "It always snows three times on the robins". The robins have been seen in this area for over 2 weeks and this snow is the third on them, so I think this will be it. Or is the saying "at least three times"??

Interestingly, the robins never leave this area, so the childhood stories of "The First Robin of Spring" never made sense to us.

Charlie, your area of the country is probably where our robins go to winter, along with a lot of the people from this area with good sense!!

When the Robins show up in the Florida Panhandle, you know it is gottten cold somewhere up north. They usually show up in November and hang around till February or March. I haven't seen any for several weeks so warmer weather must be on its way, I hope.

We have had abundant Robins since February. Today we have steady rain and the creek is running strong.

Yes the creek runs across our property and the property of many neighbors. I named our portion "Bev Creek" after my sister. Winter and Spring it flows pretty well, other times its dry as toast.

This is one of the robins that returned here this spring, was here last year also. Appears to be some sort of a color mutation. When I first saw this one I thought it was some other species of bird, but it hangs out with other robins, flies and runs on the ground like a robin, and sings like a robin. So it must be a robin.

Wow, OC, your Robin is quite a hybrid. Would like to know the parents.

Yesterday was 60 and rain.. Today its 37 (now) and sleet/rain/big snow flakes.. Tomorrow (??) supposed to be 55 and sunny!!! John

After 6" of rain in 3 days, today was gorgeous! No wind, 60 degrees and wall to wall sunshine! But, the Easter day forecast is...39, windy and more rain.

Last night we got home to fog, and it is foggy again tonight. It was clear and warm during the day, then the fog rolled in at sundown. That's kind of odd for this time of year.

The Weather craziness continues.. Sat was sunny and 55.. Sunday was 45 and sunny.. THEN.. It snowed.. Woke to 2in on the ground today.. Guessers are guessing almost 65 tomorrow.. John

I see on the news where a sheriff out in your neck of the woods has put out an arrest warrant for Pux. Phil the groundhog charging him with fraud!!

I got 5 inches here in the middle of Connecticut. I wish it would stop doing this. I want warm. I repeat, I want warm.

Nothing to brag about here. Went from 65 degrees Easter morning to 40 degrees last night. Now it's 41 degrees with a light drizzling misty rain. Glad to have a good book to read cuz it's lousy outside.

We had about 3-4 inches of new snow yesterday and the overnight low this morning was 5 degrees in Sioux Falls. Record low for this date is 4 in 1936. So far now it has snowed 5 times on the robins. They are looking back and forth at each other and seem to be saying "Was it your idea to come north this early"?

Again... The "Weather Guessers" are at it again.. 1-3in snow tonight into tomorrow!! YUK!!! John

Another day, another 4 or 5 inches of snow, high winds, and ground blizzard conditions on the Northern Plains. This is the 6th snow on the robins this "spring" here. Maybe the saying should be amended to "It always snows AT LEAST 3 times on the robins". The good news is it will be up to 50 degrees later in the week here.

We still got snow again today.. Off/on snow showers.. "The Guessers" are at it again with a 1in total.. And another day of this too.. I know this aint a lot but this is southern Pa and we aint supposed to be having this!!! COME ON WARM!!! John

Was shocked to wake up to snow on the ground this morning. Was just enough to cover the grass but still and all, wasn't expecting it. Supposed to be in the 70's on Thursday and Friday.

It has been snowing pretty steady for the past 3hr here.. Nothing sticking, YET !!! John
