This is day 6 of the Great Missouri Knife Hunt.
Most of today was spent driving with a stop at the Russell Stover candy shop for some sweets for my Mom. Sometimes she is confused as to where she is, but never about the sweets she likes.
We're in Branson, MO. right now and will hit Shepherd Hills tomorrow and of course Cheryl will shop this big quilt store she loves.
Here is the only knife I picked up today. A Beaver Creek large stockman. I've never owned one so I really don't know anything about the brand.

Received this as a gift for another purchase made. Do not know much about it?
I was supposed to receive a Master Woodsman Rescue Knife in it's stead.

I'm catching up on all the GREAT knives being found and acquired. Some awesome grabs, with a few unique ones thrown in.

There is some great 'hunting' going on.
I haven't been l@@king myself. I've bought maybe two knives in the past two months. Nothing to brag about. However, I was in an auction house last week and came across this machete. It is a 10" Tramontina (Brasil) or Brazil with a SAE 1070 high carbon steel blade. Now, these are dime a dozen and very inexpensive, so no awesomeness involved with this. I read many reviews on this particular brand and discovered there are many who are very well pleased with the durability of these machete's. I'll use it for chopping branches and small stuff. This one would be a great camping tool. Tramontina is a company that makes thousands of different things...cookware for example.
Anyway...the main reason I picked this up was because of the homemade scabbard it was in. It, in and of itself, is very unique. Someone with carving skills and a steady hand did a really nice job of making this out of one piece of wood. It is not two pieces glued together. I believe the wood may be Bali wood. Would love to know the story behind this. Here are some photos.
Thanks for looking. And if you've had any experience with this brand of machete, would like to know your opinion...good or bad.

What a beautiful set Ken!

The machete looks like it could tackle just about any task, and the scabbard, well the scabbard...!!!

Gorgeous!

Day 7 of the Great Missouri Knife Hunt.
I'm home now, we cut it a day short because both of us were just plain tired.
I think my knife count is 22 or 23, but in the next couple of days I'll be taking
some pic's and give an inventory of what I have. It's almost time to crawl
into my own bed! Goodnight....

Thanks for the comment, David.
What an awesome collection of knives you found on your 'treasure hunt' trip. That had to have been exciting, heart stirring, great anticipation, all mixed in to one emotional experience.

Glad you and yours arrived home safely.

I scooped a rusty bare headed jack from the junker bin at a local antique shop for $3 Canadian

After a bit of a scrub it revealed (on the clip blade) itself to be a Robeson/Shuredge/Rochester

The pen blade is stamped Robeson/Cut Co. There is no model number. The scales are a composite that looks like horn. The liners, and maybe the bolsters, are steel. It is a bit over 3 1/4” closed.
Any further information about this knife will be appreciated.
Thanks,
J

Nice one, MT!
I visited a guy with a 57-year collection today, but he didn’t have much he wanted to part with (and I don’t blame him!) Not anything spectacular, but I did get theses three - a Smith & Wesson, a Boker that looks to have some age on it, and a Pakistan White Tail that’ll make a good user.

Here's the story.....My great niece got hitched Thurs. evening. We stayed in the host hotel about an hour away. Wife got a
ride home with her sister so I could leave when I woke. Went immediately to an estate sale about 2 miles away. Came home.
Checked email and found another estate sale that mentioned "pocket knives and Buck knivres." I'm like of course there are
knives mentioned, there won't be any when I get there but I'm going. By the time I arrived there were a few and most were
overpriced but I was able to score these......

Was at one of our local gun shows yesterday. Grabbed up a old Kingston ,it’s a earlier one do believe and will have to talk with our mil k guys more about it . 10 bucks for that one and 10 for the little generic switchblade. The little thing is strong and snappy ,will make a gift of it to Father in law . The Hawkbill / Electrician Boker isn’t normally something would go after but it was cheap and main is scratched up so thought about throwing it in my pickup .
Have a good one out there ,happy hunting .

Nice score J.P.!

I have a Green River large Barlow with the same burnt bone covers as the one's pictured on your Boker.

And of course I like the little auto!
