We are in a hot spell by our standards and have been seeing Illinois grade thunder storms. There was a 10 mile or so stretch South of us yesterday with a lot of tree damage but it missed us except for heavy rain. ____Dave

July 4th temps here are supposed to go above triple digits.. 105-110deg!!! Sounds like another AC day!!! John

Well the temps she is a climbing!! 60deg at 6am.. Now 80deg and supposed to add 10deg to that today!!! John

Sunny currently climbing to 86 with possibly some rain later in the day.

It is a scorcher today in the Texas Hill Country.

Been hot as Hades here too Jerry. 106 Friday, same Saturday. Yesterday topped out at 108 and felt even hotter. Even the breeze was hot. One of my chickens died, I suppose from heat as they all seemed healthy previously. They have plenty of water. Dogs have been staying in the house with us and loving it.

Today was 100 by noon but it got cloudy and actually cooled down to 94 by 6 PM. Amazed that it actually felt good outside (my wife says I'm crazy! ). Supposed to be cooler tomorrow, high around 95. Sure could use some rain!

It was 110º here today. It is supposed to cool off a little tomorrow and Wednesday, only about 100º those days. I think it is time to flee to Ruidoso or Cloudcroft,, anywhere higher and cooler.

Wife's been making about 2 gallons of ice tea or lemonade a day - just for the two of us.

That's also why when you order ice tea or a soft drink at a restaurant in Texas, it's customary to get it in a 16 ounce glass, re-fill it (no charge) as many times as you want, and then usually offer you another one to take out when you leave. I especially notice the difference when traveling to other regions, where the ice tea is delivered in an 8 (or maybe 12) ounce glass. Nothing wrong with that, more is just not needed there.

Upper 90 to 100 degrees isn't unusual here in July and August, but 105 and higher is. When we went to the grocery store yesterday they had a store employee at the door with an ice chest, handing out free bottles of water, coming and going. That's an unusual but appreciated concession to the heat!

Cool front rolled through here yesterday, only 97 to 100 today. Relief appreciated.

That's too hot for me fellas! It was a brisk 38F this morning, stoked both fires to take the chill off. It will get back to 75F today and back to a normal 45F at night for this time of year. The cool weather took care of the smoke, a taste of fall!

I miss the northern weather......

I got a couple more months of hell heat then I can consider ......consider I said, wearing a shirt with short sleeves!!

Mid 90's and very humid for the third day in a row here. Our central air crapped out late last week, LOL. Looks like a new one is in order.

Luckily, there were still 3 window AC's over at my father-in-law's house stored away. Making it tolerable anyway...

6cm of snow so far today, snapped a power line up in the boonies, power is re stored. High of 34F so far today.

That's beautiful Kris! Just keep it up there, and send pictures. It got down to 57 F here last night - that's enough winter for me. I'm ready for Spring now.

We are having a wonderful day, 3.7" of rain so far, winds about 40 mph so far and the eye wall just moved on shore in Panama City.
