Picked up one of the new 110 Folding Hunters with the ebony handles as announced by Buck Knives at the 2019 Shot Show in January. This one has a 2018 date stamped blade, so it must be one of the first made. OH

Dogg, I think they are as nice. The Ebony handles on this knife are a very even, very deep black - just the way I like ebony. By the way, this knife isn’t a special run, these scales are the new normal for the Buck 110 and 112. OH

I wonder if ebony will be the "new normal for the Buck 110 and 112" every place except Wal-Mart?

I think ebony handles are the standard handles now (and moving forward) for everywhere the standard Buck 110 is sold (Buck still makes many special runs with different types of blade steels and other handle materials). I bought this one at a big box outdoor store (Gander Outdoors) - the Buck 110 is stocked at all the other outdoor stores as well, however Academy and Cabelas didn't yet have ones with the ebony handles (still working through their own warehouse stock I would guess). I've been looking since January when I saw the Shot Show video from Buck Knives and the guitar company (forgot their name). Let’s hope ebony will be offered as Buck retools the 300 family of pocketknives over the next few years. OH

Re: Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?
Stopped for an hour Sunday afternoon to fish for Shad on the Cashie River (flows into the Roanoke) at Windsor. Didn't catch anything but my new Buck 110 ebony was ready - on my hip (can you geezers see the sheath on my hip??) My daughter Kristin even gave it a try, she doesn't like fishing unless a fish is jerking her line! I did cut Kristin's chicken sandwich in half at lunchtime with my knife (once my wife was convinced it was clean!) OH

OH, I bet Kristin does get excited when there is a fish jerkin on her line. Always pleasant to meet some of the family.

Had to go to the grocery store so I stopped across the street at the Gander Outdoors & picked up one of these Buck 110's in ebony.

Aw, jeez. I posted that from my phone so I'm going to blame the spelling mistakes on the phone but the 301/110 mistake is all on me. Not sure where that came from but maybe one more whack up side my brain cage will help get my mind right.jmh58 wrote:110 maybe???jerryd6818 wrote:Had to go to the grocery store so stopped across

Nice elk handles Tony, I was quite pleased with the two I bought (elk different on both). Snap very good on both.
Welcome back to the Buck 110/Ebony handle club Jerry - sure adds excitement back to the standard Buck 110 to have ebony handles once again. OH

I strongly prefer a two piece box with a leather pouch. That way I have the option of storing it as new but still handling it. On the other hand, there might be too little moister inside the blister pack to oxidize the bolsters.
