Beautiful lighthouse pic there mrwatch. Where's it taken at?

Back to seasonably cool temps here in middle Wisconsin: 35° this AM and a few flurries a moment ago. Snow tires going on soon...

Fall has fallen in The Great Midwest. Currently 44º and sunny.

These pictures were taken of my Nieces neighborhood in Panama City FL by a friend of theirs. I'm amazed that the houses (except for their roofs) came through it so well.

Phil, I couldn't find a good map to show me how far Chipley was from Panama City, but I don't think it's very far. I see you haven't been on yet today, I expect your power is probably out. I have you and Miss Joy in my prayers.

Stay safe my friend. ::nod::

Yes, I hope those of you who are in the path of the hurricane fare well and don't have too much damage. It has been 32 degrees here with a few snow flakes last night. This morning there were 30 robins on the lawn and street in front of the house. They are congregating to head south for the winter. Kind of like all meeting at the airport before a trip.

Greg, they got the hey out of Dodge and went up to his folks in Huntsville. Tyndell AFB was mandatory boogie baby.

Keith you're in Colorado now right? I heard yesterday there was a chance of snow in Amarillo last night but haven't heard they got any or not. My son in Lubbock didn't get any.

We've had nearly 7 inches of rain here since Wednesday. Ground was already suturated before that. Some flooding yesterday afternoon and evening especially in low lying areas along creeks and river bottoms. Forecast is for more rain tonight and tomorrow.

Got our first snow here in middle WI yesterday. About an inch stuck and froze. I had to get my tender perennials cut back and off to the dump, so out I went in full foul weather gear and got it done with the help of a few mugs of hot coffee. First and hopefully last time I garden with the white stuff falling. The neighbors must have thought I was off the rocker driving the tractor in it. ::nod::

My perennials just have to suck it up and take it. if I don't get them cut back before the frost I just cut them back afterward. Of course, they don't get buried under the snow all winter here in Texas, so it'll be nice weather again in a few days and when it is I'll remove the dead tops that got frost bit.

It's been raining here off and on for days. We have had nearly 7 inches since Thursday and at least another 2 more inches today (haven't looked at the rain guage). Yesterday it was humid and damp, got up to 80 F by around noon, with a few showers. Then a cold front hit mid-afternoon. Temperature dropped to 47 by this morning, and today was a miserable day. Foggy, damp, intermittent rain. Temperature is 41 now. Supposed to rain all night. :x Got hay to cut and it'll be a week at least before I can get into the field. :(

At 1:23 we have a sunny 65°; humidity of 45%; wind at 25 mph. But even as I type I see the sky getting hazy behind a thin cloud layer which is moving in.

It’s been a gorgeous day up here in the southwest corner of Canada! Clear skies with just a few clouds, frost this morning giving over to an almost warm day. It’s getting frosty again now, at 9:20 pm. We expect good weather most of this week, with temps just around freezing.

This was taken on the public wharf in New Westminster, just below where the old B.C. Penetentiary was, on the Fraser River, just east of Patullo Bridge. The river widens there and curves. If you just looked at what’s in front of you, you’d think it was a lake. No squid, but it’s actually a tidal river and considered salt water all the way to the Mission Bridge.
This chunk of river is home to some of the worlds largest sturgeon. My older son got one this summer that reached all the way to the ground when he held it so the tail was eye level. He’s 6’4’’! They are catch and release, of course. I’ve eaten them where they were legal. Kinda oily and soft.
