I believe this whittler has "burnt stag" with potassium permanganate because it is of a certain age
This is one of my favorite knives, it has a lot going for it. Clark Bros Kansas City MO

Dyed and natural stag, these were made by Tim Britton. One blue Mammoth ivory thrown in there too.

I probably posted these before in "Knife Repair" so........ Here are two stag handles from an antique carving set that was roached and rusted but the stag is beautiful with silver butt mounts. The Hunting knife was made by Guild Master Smith, Frank McGowan of Sykesville, MD. It too was an old carving set handle and Frank adapted it to his Damascus blade and butt plate. Not sure what I'll do with the handles. I'm not a smith but I had to rescue them from a junk shop pile. J.O'.

Great save, J,O'., I'm sure they'll be put to good use!
What a waste if they're not!

Jnevill, you have accumulated a beautiful collection of stag!

Pretty good first posts for someone who’s been a member here so long. Don’t hide your light under a bushel! Congratulations on all counts.

Lots of really nice stag in your collection but that GEC Northfield #72 is an absolute show stopper. Amazing

I don’t own a lot of stag handled knives. A few Fight’n Roosters and this little “gem” from 1990

One of my more unusual Queen/S&M knives...probably a "cobbler's special" made from leftover parts around the time of Queen's factory closure. No pattern number but I do love the gnarly stag.
