Thanks gents! Dogg, don’t know, my scale is a cheap mechanical (spring) China made fishing scale that I’ve thrown away. I think about 18 lbs. Had a thick 10-3/4” beard and 1-3/16” right spur. I’m guessing a 3 year old bird. OH

In a box of odd ball knives and small parts at a small rural gun show I found a barely used 2010 Buck 342. Since I was unfamiliar with 342s I'll describe it for other members who do not follow modern Buck one hand opening knives. It's 3 5/8" closed, has a broad 2 1/2" blade with a small amount of drop, a liner lock, a pocket clip, a thumb hole and a small nub of a flipper. It is so small that the thumb hole is difficult to use without first opening the blade half way with the flipper. Since the flipper only opens it that far perhaps Buck intended for it to be opened with two actions. That's not fast but works. It's easy enough to close one handed.

I seldom even look at knives that open with one hand so there had to be something special to get me to buy it. Simple. I had not previously owned a knife with an S30V blade and it was $15.

Part of a used lot. The starting bid was $1 with $10 shipping. The bid ended up going to $15, presumably because of this model. The rest were cheap multitools that were junk, and a banged up Chinese LB-7. The tip is broken, and there's no other blades. I'll soon be buying the model without the slipjoint clip point blade, since those go for $60 with blades included. That will give me some blades should I decide to tote this model.

That's a nice Buck. I'd send it back for their spa treatment and they'll return it looking like a new knife. I've got a 110 with them now for a reblade and the cost is only $10. Buck is a great company that stands behind their products.

I wonder if they could simply reprofile it? Because I'm sure they no longer have blades for the Selector. But I do have an older 112 with a badly worn and beat up blade I'd planned to simply sharpen up and carry, but it was a bigger mess than I thought (the already worn blade had a big chip in it that I didn't notice when I bought it, and it's about a 1/4 inch short), so it's gonna have to go to Buck.

Received this just a few days ago. It is only the second Buck I've ever bought and the first was 30 years ago. The materials used are routine but it appears to be a perfectly useable knife. The fit is quite good; the finish fair. I'll begin EDCing this tomorrow for a while.

QS good looking knife,let us know how she holds uo today I finally gut me a Buck muskrat 313 at a yard sale I'll clean her up and slip her in the pocket

I've noticed Buck's traditional USA-made "pocket knife" line is now down to just the 301 and 303, the Solitaire apparently just got discontinued not too long ago. Stinks that the variety it once had is no longer there; but neither is the quality--the 301 I looked over at the local knife store had horrible snap; so weak you'd think it was worn out. That Moose/Muskrat is a great score! Seems that's one of the lesser-seen ones.

Cody, as I have read on another Buck Knives website (and verified by Jeff H. from Buck Knives) the company is in the process of retooling the 300 series. Whenever they get them on the market I'm sure they will be worth the wait, but unless you find some NOS knives the 300 line is getting mighty thin. Seems that Bass Pro Shops still has plenty of the 310 Whittlers (a SFO for them). The one I have is pretty snappy (from about 9 years ago). OH

I just bought a 371 stockman as I sent my 301 in to Buck for a sharpen job or a blade replacement. I need an edc so......? I got it at Walmart for $20. It's not the quality of my 301 but it'll do......fwiw

Buck 212 from Copper & Clad.

Nice knife Rick - welcome to the Buck fixed blade club. I took my new Buck 212 fishing yesterday, short size wears like a 102, but the 212 has the full size handle I prefer. Going to be a good supplement to my 121 Fisherman- between the two they’ll be a great fishing duo. Nice knife! OH

Saw this little Buck 310 the other day for $20 shipped and I like whittlers so I thought I'd give it a try. I think it is a 2,000.

Here is my most recent Buck, #315 Yachtsman. The one I have in my collection is really in bad shape, (cracked handles, non locking spike, etc), finally found a good deal on a replacement. This one looks well used but is fully functional, full bladed and will clean up nicely after a visit to the "spa". Now I have both versions of this model in my collection, a NIB version without bolsters and this one. Now if I could only find the elusive versions with different colored handles, or the few that came in bone.

Just ordered an old (mid 1970’s) Buck 118 from Matt Sanders AAPK Store. Probably have it late next week. OH
