I went to New Graham Knives today for SAK tweezers, and came out with nearly $150 worth of stuff (it is my birthday month, so I should be able to make that dent in my finances a little less in the coming week). I think if I'd scrapped the Mora Basic and Esee scales (which ended up being to a Candiru, not an Izula II), I would've likely been closer to budget at $120 or so.
Esee Izula II. I had been wanting one of these as a farmwork knife, and I think it will also end up replacing my big folders. It's right now in my back pocket, and I can't even tell it's there, even with the clip plate on.
I've been looking for another large folder to replace my early '00s Cold Steel Voyager. I didn't like sharpening the tanto blade on my Gen I, and it was very badly beaten up from abuse by its previous owner.
I really couldn't afford an Izula AND a Spyderco Endura, so I went with the current-gen Voyager instead.
Cold Steel Voyager L Clip Point.
I like the handle feel, and it's even better than the old one. However, this one is thicker, heavier, and stiffer than the old one. So, I may end up trading it off.
Esee Candiru scales. Didn't read the label when the clerk handed picked it up and took it to the counter, as I thought they were for an Izula. I probably should return these to add the $13.50 back to the hobby budget, but I want a Candiru for around the house and in-town EDC. So, I'm weighing between keeping them for when I buy a Candiru, or returning them and waiting until next month's hobby budget and buying both scales and knife.
Morakniv Basic Blaze Orange. It's their lose-proof color, and about the brightest "high visibility" orange you can find in any knife. I had it in my stainless-blade Companion, and wanted it in a Basic, as my other two colors are 125th anniversary black/red and the standard military green.
I like that this one has a black sheath, unlike the Companion, which has an orange sheath.

Stopped into SMKW on our way back from GA last month. Been meaning to get 'em showed off.
Both ate a bit off the norm for me.
I'm not keen on single blade knives, but the mini copperlock fits the sweetspot of size for me, so thought I'd give it a try and see if it grows on me. I do like the smooth antique bone.
The stockman is my favorite pattern, but appaloosa coloring is usually a turn-off for me. This is sawcut pumpkin spice that fades to what I see as that appaloosa pattern. Don't know why, but I really like it.
Good day, all!

I found these two knives in the $7 Christmas assortment at Walmart today.
I think they'll be pretty decent workhorses. They arrived sharp. I think the folder will hold up, but I give the flimsily attached plastic clip on the fixed blade a few weeks at best. Its sheath is also made from a pretty cheap plastic, and the holes in it are decorative--cordage or belt clips cannot be attached through them due to the tiny size.
The AXIS Lock folder has a deep carry clip, which the real deal doesn't have.
I expected complete and utter junk (as I paid $60 new for my ESEE Izula and $50 used for my Mini Griptillian--and most of the Chinese-made knives with AXIS type locks are north of $20), and these don't seem that bad for the money. I'm sure I'll be sharpening them constantly, but I think these will be seeing use in my EDC. These are cheap enough to own duplicates of.
