Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Here we are in day 4 of our Missouri trip. These are the knives I have found so far. They came from shops in Ozark, Springfield, Lebanon, Rolla and Farmington, MO.
The CASE Trapper was still in its unopened package for $39.00. There're a lot of other knives I would have bought but some folks have gone up way too much IMO.
There are some good clean up knives so I will have some projects when I get home.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Dan, I just picked up this Klien Tools electrician's knife this week and it had a large black stain of oxidation on it similar to your military camp knife's discoloration. I soaked the knife in vinegar for 48 hours at about 75 degrees. Hotter temperatures cause the chemical reaction to work faster. Leaving the blade immersed for too long can blacken the blade and takes longer to clean up and leaving it immersed for too little time and the rust won't be forced off. After soaking it, I wash it off with water, scrubbing all the meatal with a red scotch bright pad, dry it as best I can and then soak a.s.a.p. in mineral oil.

Great job dog on saving that blade. I’ll have to try that vinegar thing.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Good morning everyone,
Dropped in today to share some before and after pics of a "no markings" vintage knife I acquired. I have many other WWII knives that this closely resembles. The fact that no marks are present I decided to play around. Let me know what your thoughts are!!!!!! Yes, I decided to blue the blade and guard.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I pulled a Scott today, and didn't have to go to Janesville to do it. I was bummed out because I had to skip my favorite national show this weekend so I called a friend that has been telling me he had some knives for me to look at and possably purchase. I don't think I'd have done better traveling half a day, facing a snowstorm and spending way more money if I'd have gone to the show. Top to bottom; Kutmaster greenbone stockman, jaeger Bros. pen, LF&C sleeveboard dbl end jack, Boker pearl lockback, Pal greenbone stockman, awesome near perfect Kinfolks hunter, beautiful EC Simmons Keen Kutter greenbone jack, WR Case and sons (tested XX 6445 stamped on back tang) camper with scout shield, John Primble Belknap 3335 camper in awesome condition. Only 40 miles from home and got the package for $500. That's about what the Kinfolks and Case should have been by themselves. ____Dave

I dont know how you guys do it. I live within 75 miles of so many knife makers and I am on the hunt constantly. I cant find diddly shoot! When I do, its got an insane price per condotion. But ive heard, the further from the maker, the easier it is to find the knife???

Great finds by all! Gentleman at church gave me this CRKT M16 10S today he found at a gas station parking lot. It seems like a decent knife. First CRKT for me and first Tonto blade. I will carry it for a bit to get the.feel of it.
