Here's some horticulture/pruning knives.

Joe the no name pruner has better stag on it than just about anything made the past 80 or so years. I wonder how they managed to get such NICE stag on a regular basis back then, on top of that they made it so thin and trim.

Yeah, great stag for sure. Not bad on the pile side either.
I guess there was plenty to choose from back in the day. They were the masters; the life long cutlers.

Top to bottom Challenge Bridgeport,Keen Kutter Simmons,Bridgeport,Schrade Walden,Universal,LF&C,Remington UMC.
from early 1900's and late 1800's era to up to maybe the early late 1940's. They are just old guys in my opinion.

Top Down An old Ka-Bar Barn door toothpick Hinge pat. 1926, An early Winchester Dale made presentable with Ivory and a cleanup A Boker serpentine two blade from opposite ends I think it is a Trapper, A KA-BAR Olean Trapper. Just nice old knives.

An Ostiso Finedge from solingen,A Buster Brown from St. Louis, a nice old Remington, and a very nice simmons Keen Kutter.

Added a Cattaraugus jumbo jack, love these big old jacks. Showing it with a Walden and Empire jumbo and a regular size Electric Cut Co for comparison.

I like them as well and you have some nice ones.

Those are really nice jacks, it seems that the overwhelming majority of large knives out here on the left coast are old utility or scout type. I am yet to find any thing with five or more blades. The European horseman's I showed is it period. Perseverance will someday pay, I have hope anyway.Edit: after psting this I paged back to see the Euro knife and noticed the Tipman surgical knife has locking mechanisms on each blade. Explains whys I sometime have opening problems with it. (HA)!

Beautiful knives mossdancer and John! I’m with Joe—that large bolster Walden jack is one great vintage folder!! So how large are those jumbo jacks John? I know that they are not as big as a folding hunter so that would make them around what 4 1/2 inches closed?

Thanks guys for the comments, Lloyd the jumbo's will run 3 7/8" to about 4 1/4" with corresponding girth, these knives are a handful. Here are 2 more pictures showing the Walden, the Electric and a new GEC 77 which is a largish jack, gives a good idea of the overall mass of these things.
