C-WADE7 gave the correct answer.
He relinquished his turn to post a "Mystery Knife."

Thanks Lyle, the clues definitely got me there. Skip missed his calling as a teacher, he had me doing history and geography lessons to find it.

Sorry, guys...it's not Camillus or Miller Bros. Lyle's guess is closer (geographically).

You got it, Skip ::tu::
By any chance did you happen to see it in one of my posts recently? I forgot that I had shown this knife in a group of vintage ebony handled knives when I posted it here in the "Mystery Knife Game" ::dang::

No, not from a previous post. I just happen to like that particular style of shield.
So, along with your "Lyle's guess is closer (geographically)" clue, and through the
process of elimination, I made an educated, and as it turned out, a correct guess.

I'll post a "Mystery Knife" tomorrow. I have a splitting headache right now.

Camillus was my first guess, but when I read Skip's state of manufacture clue, Ohio jumped out at me so I went with Clauss because it's the only Ohio knife company I know of ::facepalm:: Gotta learn to trust my gut and not overthink it ::doh::

Okay, gentlefolk...this'un's American made and I'm looking for the name on the tang stamp....or the shield....or the blade etch. Apparently, this company really wanted to make sure people knew who made this knife...even though it was actually made by another company ::nod::

Sorry, boys...it's not Ulster or Keen Kutter.

Ulster is geographically closer to the company whose name is shown on this knife which, BTW, was in a totally different state from the company that actually made the knife (the two states do share a rather extensive border). Neither of the two companies in question are currently making knives today.

This statement is somewhat misleading so I need to clarify...

The company that made this knife did not make it for the company whose name appears on the knife because the "named" company was already long gone when this knife was made in (I'm guessing) the 1990s or early 2000s. The manufacturing company owned the trademark name which they put on this knife.

Schrade Walden knives (Schrade knives, Walden)? I think they used a "Sharp" slogan on the blade and also "Schrade" on the shield, Schrade Walden on the tang.

Sorry, Tdog, it's not Schrade :(

The name on the knife is that of an upstate NY knife company that closed down in the 1970s. The name is on the tang stamps (2) and in the blade etch. The shield bears the name of one of the company's highly regarded knife series.

The actual manufacturer of this knife was a northwestern PA knife company that got permission from its corporate overlord in the early 1990s to use the trademark name.

If this knife had RCSB handle scales instead of jigged amber bone the company name would probably be more obvious

Yessir, Queen is the maker ::nod::

Ontario Knife Company and Camillus also made knives under this brand name prior to Servotronics acquiring Queen in 1969.

Still looking for the venerable vintage brand name Queen used on this briefly revitalized series in 1999-2001.
