Joe, the moment I saw your pics, I knew that this knife was celebrated. It just has that chutzpah about it that few , other than a celebrated knife, can bring to the table. Nice knife and nice pics, congratulations on snaring that one!

This one a stockman is heavy knife,the blades have seen very little use. It is the handles throwing me of rough black composition. It has to have been made in 50's or 60's.. any info would be appreciated..oh and the company is Joseph Rodgers.

Hey guys, new member here, first post. Confession time, I'm a knife whore. I was reading here about "the #2pencil treatment". May I ask what that is?

Using the lead of a #2 pencil to remove rust from the blade of a knife.
Rub the lead over the rust, wipe off, treat accordingly.
I use Semi-Chrome and Ren Wax, or you can just treat will oil.

That Puko is very nice. They are often marked in script along the blade fuller on the pile side, and often hard to read. I like it O'.

Actually I’m posting a “no find.” I never find knives at yard sales or estate sales around here. Went to an estate sale Friday, and they had a dozen or so. Mostly China made and pretty beat up, so no sale. Then I looked online Saturday, and an estate sale had about 20-30. The sale had been going on since Thursday, so I figured I may have been too late. Went to the sale, looked like none had sold - but I could see why. All well used, dirty, beat up - and the one or two I may have been interested in - the blades had been sharpened down way too much. A real bummer since I was so excited to finally see some knives offered around here!

Weekend trip to Michigan's UP. I stopped at an antique that used to be owned by a friend Dan who passed away a few years ago. The guy running it now had a Marbles Folding hunter that was stuck open with gorgeous stag handles, and a Winchester cattle knife with worn blades but nice celluloid scales and great snap. The Win was $19 and the Marbles was $9. He said the stag one needed some attention and would I pay $6. I danced all the way back to the car. The blade is about 1/2 inch short and it definitely has some pitting, but now works just like it should with great snap and really nice scales. I've had way more than $6 worth of fun cleaning it up. I do have a nice one in the original leather slip tucked away in my safe, but this one I can play with. They also had a nice old Diamond, Duluth Minn. crescent wrench and a ice pick I'll use next Winter for ice dam removal on roofs.____Dave

Those are some good pickups, very nice little haul, great stag and nice celluloid. You might wanna take it easy on that dancing tho.

My Handiboy has one of the smoothest mechanisms on the wrench part. I decided I need a few more adjustable wrenches, and I've decided I'll standardize on Diamond.
