MB, which company made the toenail in your group shot?

I like the warm, yellowish look of old Case stag, but I also like bark stag all across the scales.

No wonder then. That's a lot of nice stag to hold in your hand.

Knifegirl, Miller Bros, knife7 and others: Stunning. Simply amazing. Will we ever see that quality again at modest prices? I wonder.

Henckels. Push down on the secondary blade to close the main blade. I think AG Russell did a variation on this pattern.

I really like the popcorn stag on some of the knives in this thread. Must have been some big pieces of stag back in the day to be able to get it to fit on pocketknives. I've bought popcorn stag and sent it to custom makers but they needed to shave most of the popcorn off to get the stag to fit correctly on the knives.

Thanks MB. It's 4 1/4 closed. Has grooved bolsters but can't see 'em because my pictures are so bad.

Thanks ::tu::

I have a couple stag Henckels and they always used some nice stag on their handles.

These modern custom knife makers don`t know how to properly fit stag handles on pocket knives without grinding off the texture.

In the old days they knew how to straighten the stag so they could get a long piece out of the antler for large knives. The knowledge has been lost over the years :(

I don`t buy many "new" knives or know much about them for that matter however GEC is putting some nice stag on their knives, I am very happy with the 2010 AAPK club knife :D
