There are some great knives in this thread! The old hickory Queen got me thinking about this one we have. Queen City, Titusville, Pa with the old Rogers bone.

knives-are-quiet - Re: your knife. The addition of a bail on yours is the only difference between your knife and a #33 pattern.

This picture came from the 1946 Camillus catalog. Thought you might like to see it. I've started wondering if to have a 4-line with bone handles doesn't make the knife very early WWII. What makes me think that is they used that black shrinky dink composite for handles during the 40's and especially for the military knives that were made by the thousands, wouldn't they have swapped over from bone soon after the war started to make the knives faster to manufacture with less labor and materials expense? Purely speculation. No facts to back up that head scratching.

I found this one today, an Imperial Easy Open Jack knife with a type of plastic handles. It is virtually identical to the bone handled Imperial Easy Open Jack knife I bought last week (pictured above) with a lesser degree of finishing. It looks quite similar to the Camillus Navy - Coast Guard knives that Jerry has posted above; great snap and action - might just carry this one and let the bone handled version stay safely at home.

Love those EO Imperials OH......that's what pushed me down the EO slope!!

Blades appear to be pretty full as well!

Scott, I know what you mean about that slippery slope - Imperial sure made a tremendous variety of knives in their day - shame they are gone now. I am amazed at the number of Imperial knives I have, Easy Openers, Official BSA, M-3, M-4, M-5 Bayonets, shell handled knives, Hammer brand, Frontier knives, etc. If you clean that Pal EO up just a little I think it will be pretty sweet too. I got playing around this afternoon, comparing my two Imperial EO's, decided to shoot them side by side from a few directions in order to study the differences, this is what I came up with. It's a lot cheaper to take more pictures of the knives you already own than to keep buying more knives so you can take different pictures!

At the flea Market today, I picked up this Dunlap EZ-Open (made for Sears) 1938-1942. Handles have some cracks and some lame brain has been into the blades with a grinder but it has great half-stops and both blades have wonderful snap.

That would look great with new handles Jerry!

I've been thinking the same thing, Dale. Maybe in a dark bone???

Brown, black, mahogany, Hunter Green, or even amber would look good on it.

Any of those sound good, other than green. In my world green is for money and lawns.

Vintage WWII “US Navy General Utility Knife” Two Blade Easy Opener Jack Knife made by Imperial Prov. R.I. USA c1935–c1945

Imperial Knife Company was founded in 1917 by brothers Michael and Felix Mirando. The company made quality knives thru the years. In 1940 Imperial Knife Company was considered the largest manufacturer of cutlery products in the world. This company is one of the largest producers of “War Knives” for the US Military forces during WWII. One of the many knife patterns that they produce is what is referred to as “US Navy General Utility Knife” popularly known to pocketknife collector as the “Easy Opener” pocketknife. High demand for military pocketknives during WWII to produce this knife pattern, provided Imperial the opportunity to collaborate production with Ulster Knife Company, then under ownership of the Camillus Cutlery Co. It is why there is a distinct similarity of this vintage collectible piece with Camillus “Easy Opener Jack Knife” number 33.

The main blade has a tang mark indicating IMPERIAL over PROV. R.I. The tang mark on the secondary blade indicates U.S.A. This marking suggest Imperial Knife Company manufacture years between c1935 to c1945.

here is a bunch of brass and stainless eo's, i didn't individualize the pics so here are the names of the knives as they appear from the top down, starting with the first row:
