Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

I keep having to use the mute button also, but it is to keep from throwing stuff at the TV due to the obviously pro-Dodger announcers ... ::td::

Pittsburgh 5 -- St. Louis 3
Pirates up 2 games to 1

Dodgers 13 -- Braves 6
Los Angeles up 2 games to 1

Things is lookin' up. Them what's supposed to be winnin' is winnin' and dey dat's supposed to lose is losin'. Keep it up. Get rid of dem dere snarky Red Birds and dem dere Braves wit they tomahawk chop. Let 'em take that puppy home and chop cotton (or Kudzu) wid it.

Cutty -- I take great delight in seeing those tomahawk choppers going down in flames. ::nod:: It's not the team. It's not the fans. It's not the city they represent. It's that damn tomahawk chop.

Ferg -- Then could ya just squeak out a little "yea" for the Dodgers? Surely a staunch Reds fan like yourself can't bring himself to switch his allegience to the (shudder) American League during the playoffs. ::facepalm::

Can't stand the junior circut! Gooooo! Dodgers! The Reds gave Baker the (dust) off, too bad, but he can't go out and play or hit for the bums that's making the big bucks! ftd

Cubs fired Sveum after two seasons in the cellar. Maybe the Cubs could get Dusty back. I think there's still some toothpicks in the dugout.

My personal opinion. Big bucks and long contracts are detrimental to baseball. Look at the $136M man (Soriano). An eight year contract and he only played hard his last year with the Cubs because he needed to make himself attractive if he wanted to continue playing baseball after his contract expired. Jerk. A lot of them seem to fall apart after they get the big contract.

Teams need managers that will kick a**, take names and is not afraid to sit some big name, big contract player if he's not performing up to snuff.

I'm looking forward to the Braves come back and win the next two games. Would love to see a Pirates/Braves battle for the NL championship.
Hate the games in the West coast 'cause they don't even start until my bedtime. Guess I'll watch the first inning tonight and then go to bed. Gotta get up and work in the morning. I'll find out who won tomorrow... ::huff::

Blue -- Cutty -- Do I need to hold the box of tissues for you?

Tomorrow night at 8(ET) on TBS is the big one. I'm depending on the Pirates to send the Cardinals home in a sack, but that damn St. Louis team is a feisty bunch and it's not wise to count your chickens before they're hatched.

Ferg -- You're just saying that to be contrary. Either that or you have a thing for red.

Edit: Oh, wait! Now I get it. Reverse psychology. Duh! You'll have to excuse me folks. I'm just a little slow.

Looks like it could move on to the World Series tonight. What do y'all think? Boston & St. Louis? Boogers!! Those damn Cardinals are as pesky as a house fly and just as persistant.
