An exceptional bourbon. Aged in a barrel previously used for Port wine. Doesn’t really alter the bourbons flavor but makes it very smooth.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 5:25 pmOh no! If I were a rich man, I'd probably drink it all the time. I don't have a discerning palette so I can't verbalize what I like about it. I guess I can say it's a bit smoother than the cheap stuff.

Picked this up today at Walmart. It's not Bourbon but I've been eyeing it for quite a while, curious what it tastes like (I love peaches). Haven't tried it yet but I'll post my opinion once I break the seal.

I definitely learned something. As much as I like sweets, I don't like overly sweet liquor.

We don't have any hummingbirds (that I've seen) up here. Maybe I should send it to you. I know there are hummingbirds down there.
You could feed it to 'em and watch 'em fly into walls.

Put it on vanilla ice cream this coming Summer.
When my sister cans peaches, I like a bowl with a shot of whiskey over them.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Let’s talk Bourbon
Bought a 1.75 liter bottle of Evan Williams bottled in bond. Not world class but very good at $30. I believe that it’s aged 4 years. Can’t beat it for the price.

Re: Let’s talk Bourbon
I have a non-discerning palette so I buy the black label for around $20 for a 1.75 Liter bottle.

On a very cold winter evening nothing warms the soul better than a pour of good bourbon. Tonight’s choice Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.
Cheers!

Re: Let’s talk Bourbon
Received two big boxes stuffed with snack items. Mmmm! Right up my alley. One of them had these little fellers in it. Sipping the Canadian Whiskey as I post. It's not steller but it's OK. I wouldn't waste my $$ on a big bottle. Different strokes for different folks.

Jerry, not at all familiar with the Canadian but the Jim Beam Devils Cut is a nice bourbon at a decent price. Re: Let’s talk Bourbon
Taking a bourbon break. It’s my favorite indulgence but every now and then I have something different. Bought some Beefeater gin as I make an excellent martini. I use large olives stuffed with blue cheese. Not a great Scotch fan but I enjoy some on occasion. Changing from time to time makes me appreciate bourbon all the more.

Oscar, I know what you mean. I have all this good bourbon and what to fix to drink? Plain old Jack & Coke or rum and Coke. I clearly like Coke but won’t mix it with better bourbons.

Re: Let’s talk Bourbon
Boji, I don’t know if you would like it but I always add a chunk of lime to my rum and coke. Adds a nice tangy flavor that balances with the sweetness of the drink.

Yes on the lime, I try to keep a fresh one on hand. Necessary for the occasional margarita.

Re: Let’s talk Bourbon
Stocking up today at the liquor store supreme, I saw two honey bourbon whiskeys. Never had either so I’m curious. One was American Honey, made by Wild Turkey, the other Jim Beam Honey. Anyone here familiar with either of them? What do you think ? I’m leaning toward Jim Beam. I’d appreciate your input. Thanks

Re: Let’s talk Bourbon
WT American Honey was probably not the first, but is the first that I remember. It has been popular for many years. The Beam is more recent. I would say the WT is sweeter, which makes it more drinkable for the masses. Beam is Beam, if you are a fan, and prefer less sweet, then you are leaning in the right direction.......but both are quality products.OSCAR wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 9:41 pm Stocking up today at the liquor store supreme, I saw two honey bourbon whiskeys.
