Got this 112 slim on the way through Denver last week. It'll go good with my 110 Smokejumper.

I just picked these up not too long ago. I like the old Camillus barlows.

Those are awful nice knives. I'd have to carry one of them, probably both!

Here's my new Bucks a Vantage, because I didn't have a flipper and a 112 Slim with a drop point blade and pocket clip. I think I'll like the drop point blade. Question, the blade on the 112 is marked 044. What is the significance of that? FWIW it came from Copper and Clad.

Re: Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?
Pretty sure that "044" is a serial number. From what I've seen, drop points, in standard steel, have been typically exclusive to them.
Normally, when Tractor Supply puts out Christmas knives in clam-packs, I wait until they're discounted heavily, typically close to, or right after Christmas. However, this set of a 285 Bantam BLW and 283 Nano Bantam had both been put out just this week. $20 for the set. My local knife shop, on the other hand, $20 for the 285, $15 for the 283. Couldn't help bringing it home with me the minute I saw it. Been wanting a 285 for quite some time, and I'm impressed; a lot. Already put it to use today. It's lightweight, but a good-sized knife. Just the right size. I may end up giving my great-aunt the 283. I already have an orange camo one, and she's been looking for a small pocketknife for her purse.

Appreciate the info! I didn't realize that. Nice score on your Bucks as well! Kind of addictive aren't they? Edit to add: I went to Copper & Clads website and sure enough they numbered the first 100 of production! I got #44!

My Buck family is very small, just 3 with this recent addition. Chose it for its lightness, sharp blade, and good looks.

Rick, beautiful stag handles on (IMO) the perfect size gents knife - big enough to do the job and small enough to pocket easily but with the best scales - great knife! OH

QS looks like a very practical little knife.
Rick T. that is a gorgeous knife. I'm kind of partial to those elk covers.

John, I don't know how many 722 Spitfires you have/have had but it's my favorite Buck folder. Yes (for me) it even eclipses the ubiquitous Buck 110. I have/have had several 722 Spitfires and 721 Slimlines (SFO for Wal-Mart - same knife with some subtle differences). Be sure to post pictures when you get it.1967redrider wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:40 am I just ordered a custom SpitFire in WVU Let's go Mountaineers colors. Hmmm.......that's a pretty good endorsement. Might have to try one myself when funds permit.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 11:54 am John, I don't know how many 722 Spitfires you have/have had but it's my favorite Buck folder. 722 & 721-Walmart comparison shot. As I said, subtle differences. The handles are shaped slightly differently and the 722 Spitfire blade has a Swedge where the 721-Walmart does not.

Don’t know if you are still collecting variations JerryD but yesterday I was in Academy Sports - they had a Buck 722 with a black handle and a red, Ceracoted blade. OH
