Glad you went back and spotted them. Wish I could have such good luck at yard sales!
Dan it was pure luck, ::hmm:: Normally, I have to go to 100 yards sales to find 1 junky old Pakistani knife...
Maybe I should start perusing yard sales ::hmm:: But I seriously doubt that anyone where I live would be selling anything cool, so I usually don't even bother looking. I'll be attending my first knife show in P.A. this September, so I'm REALLY excited about that ::ds::
Kim, yards sales are tough... ::facepalm:: ... ::hmm:: here is why; in my town (just a small town... ::skeptic:: Oops! ::paranoid:: better NOT say anymore ::paranoid:: on that) there is a sizable group of resellers scouring the entire range of yard sales all over town. This means that you have to be the VERY 1st one at any given sales to score any desirable items ::paranoid:: and knives... they are at the top of the list ::dang:: I go "yard sailing" only once in a while, mainly, ::hmm:: I just stop if I see a sign and feel like wasting my time. ::dang::

Yeah, if it's too hot out, I'm not wasting my time! Besides, I can tell driving by what cr@p these people are selling. It's mostly used kid stuff and busted up board games missing pieces or an inflatable pool with a hole in it. HARD PASS.

Anyway, great finds. ::tu:: ::tu::
Thanks! ::handshake:: Yeah... I went through many ups and downs at flea markets and yard sales... it just keeps getting harder and harder to find good stuff. ::hmm:: every now and then you get lucky.. but it's definitely not the rule... ::hmm::

Antique shops are a much safer bet in my personal experience. One man's junk is another man's treasure and I've found a few treasures :) At least in my opinion.....

::handshake:: Not sure what took you so long Dog, I don't bite, but I will learn how to throw a tomahawk :D ::groove::
You are correct Kim, just picked this up at my local antique store for 10 dollars ::ds::

Theo, that is a very nice find for a Sawbuck ::nod:: . Congrats!! ::tu:: You guys talking about trade days and Flea Markets, around my area they have pretty much dried up in the last 15 years. I have to drive about 40 miles to the nearest one. Seems the further south there are many more that I see, especially going towards the gulf. There are Antique Stores and Antique Consignment Malls in my area, but you are better off finding a yard sale. A lot of the consignment shops must have large overhead, because I've hardly ever found many Great Deals.

Working our church rummage sale today.

One of the fellows who helps in the mornings got to the pocket knives before I did, but he did leave a couple...

I picked up this cool Case tri-fold Blackie Collins knife....

There is a Bear and Sons stainless handled gents three blade knife in its box, but also in the box is a wood scaled "Western ISA" knife.
I might buy those too. It's for the church anyway....

Thanks Papa, I also look in the paper or online for estate sales, sometimes I take the back roads to little towns to see if an antique store is around….but now days it is getting harder.

I did pull that trigger and I might be sitting on the floor in a completely empty house soon with nothing to look at except knives before I know it. The problem in my household is that my husband and I both are so into it, so it's the equivalent of meth heads or crackheads living together.
I've always told people who said they were getting into knife collecting, Welcome to the Addiction, that has the Affliction, of affecting your Condition to never stop. Whiskey barrel knives, wait.....what......where?????

::hmm:: There are 3 important rules of tomahawk use ;
Careful about throwing a tomahawk indoors! Remember to always make sure your backstop/background is safe and in the Zombie Apocalypse ::skeptic::
always carry more than 1 tomahawk!!!

During the Zombie apocalypse I will be sure to carry at least 4.
That's good solid planning as zombies tend to attack en masse, so having a backup to the backup is always a must ::hmm:: ... and don't forget ALWAYS carry a pocketknife!
