Joe, I like it!

who do you think made it? I have a similar one, that says Made in the USA, but no brand name on it.
I was afraid someone was going to ask that question.
The question has been asked before and the answer is somewhere on the forum. I can't find it and I don't know
I'm glad you like it TOPDOG.

Looks like time for "key word search"
Key word search has come and gone --------- my searches are quite shallow;
if I don't find the answer soon I quit shakin' the bushes.
Thank you doglegg and Jerry.
Whatever it is it's a decent knife. That works for me.

I found this at an Antique store today. Nothing special, but I did not have one before today.
Worth the $6.

I found another Short-line!

....

.........
1946-50 era, right? You got a winner there for sure!
And a great Ulster there, Smitty!
Don’t believe that’s a 46 to 50 s period stamp. There was a series of these slanted bolsters / fake stag / short line stamp that came out sometime after the 46 to 50 s period. Vit or one of the other Camillus guys will be able to steer us straight. In the meantime , will do some research into it and let you know some dates and what the series is called.
You’ve been on a roll lately GDog .

Looks like the stamp below, doesn’t it?. The image below came from right here on AAPK. Maybe we were looking at two different knives, Ripster?

Thanks for posting that article Tim . It’s easy to get a little confused when looking at just the stamp . The knife G dog has looks like the sword brand Deluxe “ pristine line “ with parallel slant bolsters and Indian Stag but has the short line looking stamp. That series is in the 1972 catalog !
As some of the old timers keep telling us , read the knife not the stamp. GDog s knife has the 70s look and method of construction based on what I can tell. Another to watch out for is the orange handled ( mc-1) paratrooper knife . There’s some stamped with what looks like the old short line but that knife wasn’t produced before 1959 according to some .
Thanks again for the article and your time in this . Stay cool out there .

Nice group!
I have a version of that same Mini Saddlehorn in Blue Bone. If it were a bit better quality than mine (which opens really rough), I'd easily see that being a favorite EDC of mine. Same size as the Mini Trapper, but with wider blades.
Speaking of that, maybe I need to throw my Frost Mini Saddlehorn into my EDC rotation and see if the action smoothens out.

That sounds like a great idea

, I think I am putting in the congress, the stockman and the trapper with the darker thick stag into EDC rotation for next week

Thanks Scott. Never seen a Sam McDowell knife that didn't have some sort of scrimshaw on it. Neat looking knife though!!
