Sometimes you just get lucky. Lady at a local church thrift store saves any knives for me. . New, untouched , still in the wrapper with Info sheet. $5. (I gave her $7.00) J.O'.

A banger, a Wenger and an A.W. Wadsworth & Son with wood handles. And the metal block there for bangin on. All for 15 bones.
That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

Very nice, J.O.' That was my late father's choice for an EDC. I have his, and always remember him cutting tape and cleaning his fingernails with it.Ridgegrass wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:52 pm Sometimes you just get lucky. Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Thanks, TMK, I am still out there hunting, just taking a bit easier lately. I stopped going to the local Pawnshops and Fleamarket for the past 6 months, just a yard sale now and then and the local knife shop. I got tired of bumping elbows against 12-15 other knife collectors for a few pitiful broken tipped rusty old Imperials and cheapo Chi-Com knives. The flea market days out here aren't what they used to be....

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I have decent luck at the monthly antique mall near me. There are usually a few decent finds there each month, but they usually need some cleaning if they're affordable. The really clean stuff is out of reach most of the time. I don't mind, I like cleaning them up and totin' them around!GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 4:50 amThanks, TMK, I am still out there hunting, just taking a bit easier lately. Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Found this nice Masonic knife in Berlin, MD. The blades are Colonial and the scale-tips have a tiny mark, "KLITZNER". I'm Guessing that's the jeweler's mark. It appears to be nickel-plated brass from the slightly yellow appearance in places where its worn. My paternal Grandfather was a very high Mason. He was buried in Masonic dress with his apron etc. I'm not familiar with Masonic activity so I can't say exactly what he was but I know he was a "Grand Master"(?) of his lodge. J.O'.

Not mine, but my brother-in-law just tested me a picture of his $1.50 yard sale find.

That's a prize for a buck and a half! The beauty of going to a yard sale. I usually get there too late they say, " yeah we had several knives and guns but they sold 1st." Your brother in law did good!Gtrclktr-351 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 5:47 pm Not mine, but my brother-in-law just tested me a picture of his $1.50 yard sale find.IMG_3789.jpeg

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Found this little Okapi made in Germany folding knife at an antique store today for $15. It has an exposed blade spring that has a pivot in the cherry wood handle. These little knives have been made in South Africa since 1988 or so, but Okapi started in early 1900s in Germany.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
That's a beauty, Tony.
When you described it in your PM I was picturing the usual Okapi knife, but this one is completely different from those.
I really like the shape of your knife, it looks great!
