Cool finds everyone....especially that Young Bucks Outdoors Camillus.

My finds today...

Hey Treefarmer, I wish I knew who made this Craftsman. It's made well and the blades are sharp.

That trapper looks a lot like a Copperhead. I like it!

Scales, that's a good-looking Stockman! Am I correct in thinking that one is made by Schrade?

I went to a big Flea across Florida event last Friday, only one stop and brought home 2 pocketknives.
Being the tightwad that I am, price is a prime consideration when picking up any knife. One gentleman, a dealer apparently, had all kinds of knives and he was proud of his wares. New Case knives priced above retail and used ones were also high. I noticed a strawberry bone colored knife and asked him about it, it had a Smith & Wesson shield like on a handgun. I've seen way too many S&W knives that were junk from over "there" , I was a bit leary. He priced it at $20, I put it back in the pile and walked on. I spotted a congress pattern knife on a table among a bunch of house wares, asked about it, the guy said $3, so I bought it. Rambled a bit more around the market and kept thinking about that big ol' trapper with the S&W name on it. So I went back, halfway hoping it would be gone. It was still there so I gave the man the money. I am slightly familiar with the Taylor brand name but only in a negative way. The stamp shows USA, the thing is a beast, half stops, good walk and talk, lightly used and I have no idea who actually made it? I noticed there is one listed for sale and one that has already been sold in the AAPK stores.

Who do y'all think made this big ol' trapper? The knife is not very comfortable to hold when the clip lade is opened, the spay stands high and does not give a comfortable grip.

I'd say those are great catches for 23 bones, Phillip, IMO you did well.
I sure can see how that secondary blade on your trapper would be uncomfortable in your hand by it sticking up so much, why in the world would they make it like that?
I like the swayback look, but comfort trumps looks.
Probably the thing I find most attractive is the strawberry bone coloring.
I'm sorry, but I have no idea who made your knife, but I'm sure someone will.
Not a bad way to spend a Friday, for sure!

Picked up at a gun/knife show today, a Kelly How. Thomson probably made by Napanoch, a Ulster and a nice gun holster, $35 total for the two knives and $20 for the holster.____Dave

In your 2nd picture, did you consciously position your knife on that place on the carpet so it would look like the knife is fanning out it's blades, cuz it does and also looks really cool?

Thanks David & Tim ... It's kind of interesting how something as simple as finding a new (to me) 50- or 75-year-old pocket knife can brighten up your whole day...

As a side benefit Marco, these knives seem to hold their value fairly well. I have collected a bunch of stuff over the years and almost all of that stuff, comic books, history books, cast-iron cookware, WWII model airplanes, old tools, wooden carvings, etc...etc... turns out to be a worth squat. Most of that stuff I have been trying to downsize and get rid of and nobody wants it anymore... and they sure don't want to pay anything for it. The knives are one of the few things that hold their value and are easy to liquidate if one needs to raise cash. Old history books... ...not so much.....

I don't know if you've interacted with him yet, Dog, but we have a new member that goes by the handle "Mr.Ugly12345", and he recently posted that he too is/was a collector of other items than knives, key-chain puzzles, mini pocket tools, etc., and get this, at one point over 4,000 PEZ dispensers!
I'm wondering if perhaps he might be able to point you in the right direction for you to unload some of your unwanted items, possibly for some cash?

I found this pair today in Millsboro, DE: An EDGE BRAND (Gutmann), "BULL'S EYE",#418 "Professional Throwing Knife" 9-5/8" long, leather stacked handle, with a really nice sheath with a cool keeper tab for the pommel. Also a "Sabre" (Japan) copy of a Camillus "21" pattern peanut. Stainless. Both in really nice condition. J.O'.

I've actually been into old books lately. I just sold the secretary of agriculture's report 1890 for a pretty penny, and a few old religious books. A few kids books too. There's still money and interest there. Though, it's admittedly not as easy of a sale as a knife.

Very nice, I just cleaned up one of those throwing knives for a friend not too long ago, but yours is in much better shape than his was. Very good find...
