Nice finds John! I especially like the old school look of the throwing knife versus modern ones, and the Bulls Eye sheath to boot! 3 ::tu::

Tony, I think it's a medium quality German item from the 50's. I don't think it's ever been thrown or maybe just ta a cardboard box. There's not a scratch on it anywhere, just some "age spots". I bought it "just because" ::shrug:: I like it.

Your throwing knife is a real gem, J.O'., I absolutely love the blade shape. ::tu::
I'm very familiar with the knife buying method of "just because", I do it all the time! ::shrug::

My humble find. Mostly I'm just pleased that my every other day thrift store that never has knives had this for 2 bucks.

I enlarged his picture, J.O'., and the tang reads "Valor" and the blade is etched "Valor Pony", if that helps. ::shrug::
Personally, I was thinking Rigid based on the overall shape. ::hmm::

Valor is/was a wholesaler/importer of knives from Japan, Germany, and Pakistan. Just wondering. I think their older Japan stuff is good. Good luck with it. Like Marco said, "two bones". ::tu:: ::tu:: J.O'.

The knives are one of the few things that hold their value and are easy to liquidate if one needs to raise cash. Old history books... ::dang:: ...not so much..... ::facepalm::
I've actually been into old books lately. I just sold the secretary of agriculture's report 1890 for a pretty... it's admittedly not as easy of a sale as a knife.
I glad you have had luck selling some books. I have had a few good sales of my old books but that might be one in 300-500 of my books or maybe more ::facepalm:: that would bring enough money to take the time and actually list it for sale. Don't get me wrong, ::paranoid:: I love my old books, but I have so many that it has become a burden to keep them. ::facepalm::

Here is my find from the weekend...more than $2.00 :x

Those old Valor knives from Japan were like the "Chi-com-Made" knives of today, except they were made with Japanese steel, and years later turned out to have been some pretty cool pieces... ::hmm::

I picked this up Kutmaster recently. I don't usually collect this type of knife, but the price was right and it looked solid. This one not made in Pakistan, LOL.

I've been looking at hatchets and hammers more lately. Actually just got a hatchet from TripleF that I'm working on with one of my sons. Im going to post a thread about the process when we're done but here it is after he got the old cord off. Nice Valor btw. Yours is much cooler! I'm picking up any 70's Japan I find. Mostly brass and wood with good stainless blades.
