Do YOU have a CASE XX knife in YOUR pocket today?????

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I have this CASE knife that I can’t read. I’m hoping someone will be able to read it or will just be Really good in Case knives. I tried going by the shield but I kept second guessing myself about the shape of the C. So I came to the “Brains” of knives. :D
Thanks!

If you look at the Case tang stamps in Research here you will see that stamp was only used from 1990-1993. That narrows the possibilities considerably. Even if you can read it clearly my eyes tell me it’s not a zero, or a one. The stamp looks like 1992. If you still can’t read it, just call it “early 1990s”.

Couple of tricks - get a jewelers loupe. They are not expensive and you don’t need a high quality one anyway. Any good magnifying glass will help. Or take an in-focus picture like you have done, and enlarge it.

Today I decided to use and show this knife some love, my daughter gifted me a couple years ago because I thought
it would be a shame for her to find it unused, on the day of my passing, and wonder what did I even buy this for?

So today I sliced up a few boxes to be taken down to the garbage. Worked very knicely too!!!

They do not counter sink the clip screw heads  ... and the knife is a little harder to pull from the pocket. I have a Strider folder, and the clip is so tight, I 'bout have rip it out of my pocket with channel locks to use it.... ::facepalm:: .... I don't the knife falling out when I sit down ... but I would like to be able to use at some point in the day w/o another tool to get it out.... ::doh::

Hopefully you can find a regular place for it in your watch pocket then find excuses to use it while she's watching. That would show her some love. Plus you might be gifted more knives in the future. If my eyeballs are correctly caliberated it is a Pocket Hunter from the vault release a few years ago so it should be easy to find a way to carry it.
