Older KA-BAR( Union Cutlery) small stockman. Match striker nail nick on master & spey blades, no bolsters; blades show little or no sharpening; rust cleaned up nicely. Best part: 4 bux!

I've been looking at hatchets and hammers more lately. Actually just got a hatchet from TripleF that I'm working on with one of my sons. Im going to post a thread about the process when we're done but here it is after he got the old cord off. Nice Valor btw. Yours is much cooler! I'm picking up any 70's Japan I find. Mostly brass and wood with good stainless blades.

For some reason we don't get many good USA made knives here in Oklahoma at garage sales or flea markets; well, ya the occasional knife guy who is a dealer. Or at least I don't find them. But the wife and I just did a 100-mile garage sale weekend, and I did find a bunch of hatchets, good old USA stuff, on the cheap - I say cheap, I am talking $15 or less. I just don't collect hatchets. Maybe I should start picking them up I just don't know what they are worth or anything about them. I can just tell they are old steel.

On our drive home from Belton we decided to stop at the antique mall in Burleson, TX.
In the first pic that is one of two isles and many of those cases have a variety of knives. The fixed blade is an Imperial; next is an IK CO.;
the yellow handle has a tang stamp LIPIC USA (new to me); Lastly a BUCK 379 2023.

dlr110: I used to go to Belton Lake when I was stationed at Ft. Hood in 1967. I was in the Ft.Hood Skydiving Club and the club did water jumps into the lake. 57 years ago, wow. J.O'.

Found a Kutmaster stockman,a 5.11 folder, a Chinese KA-BAR neck knife, an unmarked manicure tool, a small lockback ay Hard Hat knives, & an unmarked mini fixed blade. The mini was a gift from the guy I abought the knives from. The total cost for all was 20 bux.

Don't you find it odd that the free gift that the unknown to you sellers always give you is the smallest inconsequential knife they own? You got that cool little clever at least!
It's like they know the right thing to do is offer you something extra as thanks for buying as much as you did, but can only nurture that feeling a teeny-weeny bit, hence their T/W knife! Some peoples children, jeez!

Slim pickings at the flea market yesterday. I did pick this one up though. I don't actively collect UH anymore, but this one with the etch was neat to me.

It also has a "Converse" etch on the bolster, so it must have been a SFO...

I've only been to Ft. Hood one time about some airspace issue with one of their ranges; and skydiving, NEVER!
