Looks like a Western, too. Did you check the guard for possible stamping there?

Thanks Ray, I did check the guard and no marks... it sure feels like a Western and the sheath it appears to be Western as well. I wonder if there was etching on the blade similar to what Queen did in the 60's and the etching is just all worn away... ???

Thanks TMK! I might be able to weigh a marked/stamped Western bowie against this bowie and see if the weigh matches.... If it is alsmot the same or very close that could be another clue...

A good group of knives, congratulations.
The Queen stockman looks very good. Can't quite make out the stamp, what era is it from? The Winterbottom handles look super nice, hope the pile side is as good.
I reckon those knives made your trip from Florida to New York a little more palatable.

Found this old Schrade improved muskrat on a garage sale today for $2. It's pretty rough but it'll be fun to clean it up and carry it.

Dang! $2? To say you done good, Doug, is an understatement!

A little tune up on the secondary blade and it'll be good, a great knife.
2 bucks, what a prize!
I've never skinned a muskrat but I do use my Old Timer muskrat every year touching up venison cuts before packaging. A favorite pattern for me.

I picked this up today..... 9 dot (71' ?) Case Muskrat

Two knives came home with me today:
I found this Imperial at a Pawn shop for $7. I fell in love with that handle wrap. The blades did look terrible, but a #2 pencil took care of the worst of it.

Then I came across this little Schrade USA 515 Scrimshaw in a thrift store for $1. It looks like a factory second, and has a broken spring.

A nice old Camillus "66" Stockman in French Ivory. "Preston Motor Co,, Preston, MD" advertiser.Some blackish patina but nice,full and snappy blades. Found in Delaware yesterday.
