David, I have no info, but that is a NICE group there, especially the Eye Brand! Congrats!dlr110 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 12:01 am These are some knives I picked up in Justin, TX. yesterday.
On the left is a Sabre Ireland Slimeline Trapper. Top middle is a Carl Schlieper Eye Brand Large Trapper #82 on the pile side of the main blade. On the right is a small 2011 CASE Trapper #6207 SS. Middle front is a PARKER CUT. CO. World's Fair Souvenir knife and it's a good thing the blade is surgical steel because I stabbed hand with it. I'm kind of excited about the Eye Brand Trapper. It has the CARL SCHLIEPER (over) SOLINGEN GERMANY on the tang of both blades and a lot of etching on the main blade with the single eye mark. If anyone has more information on this knife I would greatly appreciate it.

Cool and associated with your Grandfather makes it even better.ThatWeirdKnifeGuy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 1:02 pm Found this at my grampa's house. It was brought home from Vietnam. Apparently its hand hammered from a US Jeep leaf spring. The tooling is on both sides of the blade.
Thank you sir.Lama wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 1:13 am Check out this paper by Mark Cole if you haven't already seen it.

it looks similar to a blade I brought back from Thailand, and as they are geographically so close that would make sense...

Both are great, but man that stag is extra nice.
Those are fantastic, Scales! Great finds!
Nice scout knives! That carry pouch makes it even better.toomanyknives wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 2:24 pm Just picked up a couple of knives that I didn't know I needed, but I'm glad they found me. Tom (bestgear, and Cosgrove Cutlery), was nice enough to notice that my Buck collection post was missing Scout knives. He kindly, with no pressure whatsoever reached out to me and told me that if I ever wanted to add one to my collection, that he had a few. Well long story short, I now own two great old Buck BSA knives in mint condition! Thanks again, Tom!![]()

Maybe one of the Rosewoods? It is very common in India (not too far away) or it could be teak....ThatWeirdKnifeGuy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 6:16 amWhat kinda wood you figure it's handled with?
