Yesterday I found another hobby tool, and had to have it. Now I have another collection.

I bought this Ulster Boy Scout knife at the flea market for $8. Exactly like my Scout knife I bought when I was 12. This one's in nice shape and I think I'll carry it for awhile.

Blue, it looks exactly like the Ulster I just bought for, ta da, $7.99. (Except the bail on mine has gone missing.)

Great finds Fella's......hard to beat the steel in those old Ulster BSA knives.

There is a Flea Market across the street from this Truck Stop. Went over there and grazed. Got an Imperial Shcrade 2 & 3/4" Liner Lock with amber acrylic scales and an Imperial Prov RI USA 2 & 3/4" Dog Leg Jack Shell with "Pearl" scales.

The China knife has decent looking steel and came pretty darn sharp. Very decent fit and finish.

The Jack needs some more Clean up and sharpening. It has some blade wiggle, decent snap and is pretty.

I have seen some of those new China made Schrades.....they don't look bad at all.

I wonder if someone has replacement bails available Jerry? Mine's missing on my original Scout knife too.

Bob (Elvis)...replaced one for me.. ....He does great work.

I like the idea of having a bail put on it but I don't want to put that kind of money into an $8 knife that will be worth $15 when I'm done with it.

You could make your own lanyard and put on it..

I'm still trying to decide how I would do that. I'm afraid drilling a hole all the way through would get into the pin and ruin the knife. Just thinking out loud here. Nah, I don't think a lanyard would look right on this knife. Thanks for the suggestion. I like the non-linear thinking.

3F - Really? No shoes? Please tell me you're not taking pictures of your knife in the buff. I'm not usually much on stockmans but I sure like that old Western (or is it called something besides a stockman?).

so? replace the bail...it isn't a difficult job...one pin and a piece of wire with the ends flattened and drilled.

I have carried various scout knives and I find the bail to be an irritation as I carry the knife in my front pants pocket. It can also get in the way when you try to close the main blade. Since I don't and won't carry a scout knife hanging from a belt clip, the bail is not needed and is for me a hinderance rather than a help.

I got two knives in today that I had the covers replaced on.
Elvis did a great job putting these knive to right.
A Ka-Bar in black paper micarta, and a nice little Schrade with giraffe bone.
