Re: BONES BONES BONES
I have been getting a 'lill crazy lately picking up new bone... I have had some good luck in some finds as well as being sucked into blue bone by Case XX ... I can't resist their power over me....

Re: BONES BONES BONES
Thanks TMK! Also, I recall reading that the #6 in pattern number was for bone (The first number indicates the type of material used to make the handle) .... but I think it also extended to Jigged Synthetic & Jigged Laminate. I guess a red hot needle/pin will reveal the truth....toomanyknives wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 5:49 pmNice TOPDOG! Usually (not always) the oval around the Case logo in the shield indicates bone.
P.S. I have not commented yet on your Case XX EDC for today .... .... but if I do... I will it get Very sweet indeed!

Yep, it can get confusing though. Here is a 1978 example that is Delrin. They also use the 6 as the first digit in the model for "synthetic bone". It's one without the oval around the logo. And thanks, I do like that 18 I posted.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 11:50 pmThanks TMK! That 1978 is nice! ... Years ago, I was really excited that I had so many "bone" Case pocket knives .... .... until I looked in a book and saw how that 'ol "6" could mean so many other things....toomanyknives wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 1:18 amYep, it can get confusing though. 1978!!?? Wow!!! So long ago!!! I don't think I can harness enough energy for my time machine to go back THAT far that would take a huge amount of power to penetrate the quantum field....toomanyknives wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 1:57 amIt's a clean one for sure! .... I am doing some more research TMK.... looking for a "loophole in the black hole" so to speak.....
P.S. If you remember seeing a middle-aged guy with an iPhone in his hand, a Blue tooth era bud and an Apple watch at your High School graduation with several knife cases on his belt .... you'll know I worked out all the kinks...

These are new pick-ups that need to be cleaned up and I was afraid would show heavy pitting on the blades, .... but the blades turned out OK, and man oh man I like these HOKs The Remington has great snap for an old knife and is going to make a sweet 'lill EDC

Thanks! Great bones on your western No.63 ... I have an old Reminton (from the 30's ish era ) that looks like your western No.63, same style of bones on the handle.Thomasg wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 12:43 amThat’s some really nice old bone ! Re: BONES BONES BONES
. Me thinks that both Remington and Western used bone from Rogers .A name most folks associate more in descriptions of older case knifes. “Rogers bone” .GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 12:57 amThanks! Sweet bones, Ivoryman! Great looking line up. If I had to choose, my favorites are Voos, Robeson, Walden, in that order.
